Crush42 (2016-06-29 19:56:18)For me, getting into a new music artist is probably the most difficult type of new artist to get into. For a director, you can like the way he/she moves a camera, edits shots, angles a frame, selects soundtracks, etc. For a game designer, you can admire characters, graphical direction, gameplay, difficulty, soundtrack, story, etc. Even an author, who can paint wonderful, unique worlds in your mind, populating them with people and creatures where imagination is their only limit.
A music artist, on the other hand, only has music, which means every skipped beat, misplaced lyric or sour note will be more noticeable than a typo, glitch, or bad shot, and infinitely more dangerous. If there are mistakes, but promise, in my introduction to a new music artist, I can give them another shot if I like what I heard enough; but if there's a bad voice, terrible lyrics, or just isn't in a good enough genre to me, I've got other things to be doing with my time
