Just because the government doesn't consider fetuses to be people doesn't mean they aren't. Laws don't change facts.

It's going to come down to philosophy and defining what life/living is...Because a fetus and a "full grown" baby don't differ much (considering they're soley dependent on a parent source until they're able to think cognitively) then it should be fine to abort a baby over 24 weeks, too...that is, if they insist that it's perfectly fine to terminate a fetus younger than that.

The fetus can feel pain–pain much more intense than adults–that doesn't matter if they're not sentient. They don't sense pain like we do. It's more like an instinct. Am I saying their life doesn't matter because they're unconscious? No, I'm saying they never (truly) had a life in the first place.

Unborn babies don't think, and saying aborting kills children is like giving birth to a brain-damaged, dead (but not braindead) child who needs life support and removing it's life support is killing babies. The mother is the life support, and the kid, if conceived irresponsibly by an alcoholic, drug addict, or maybe into a 3rd world country, is brain-damaged. "But these kids have a chance at life, give them their chance!" And waste their mother's lifetime, restricting her from doing the things she wants to do because she's carrying an unwanted baby sucking away at her energy? Their life would've been never very decent or fit for anyone, considering the low chance of them being adopted into a permanent family.

Its a possible life, that life that was just killed could have grew up to do something important, gain love ones, start a family of their own, this is why I'm "on the fence" I believe that a woman who has been stupid enough to not use protection and make sure the guy is wearing protection should keep the baby, if they truly cant be a parent they should give the child up for adoption, on the other hand, rape is not the woman's fault they shouldn't have to go through labor.


Really? Comparing a fetus with a brain dead child? Wow, a fetus has no life but can grow and be natured to become something, have a family, a brain dead child on life support isn't going to be able to have a full life or be able to experience life.

I do see where you're coming from with this one. There's also the possibility of that baby becoming a mass murderer.. Tables turn.

What if the protection failed? As previously said, there are already many kids overrunning the adoption places and being switched between foster homes constantly.

TetrisDude335's indecisiveness is justified. There are clearly some gray areas.


Regarding the argument, let's say that the irresponsible ones couldn't get an abkrtion. Woukd you want people like that taking care of a child? That causes a lot more problems than a clump of non-sentinent cells dying. Also, if you don't support abortion, you may as well not support condoms either, yet some of you are saying that it's the alternative people should use rather than aborting the child.
