As of now, it is impossible to have PS2 or higher graphics without a not so great battery life. Well, without making it ultra expensive.

Wii didn't do HD cause there were barely any HD tvs back at that time. no one had HD tvs back in those years so for nintendo its logical to stick with what they got.
