Aaron and Matt healed up their pokemon, and mentally prepared themselves for the Comet town gym leaders.
Suddenly the roof of the gym opened up, revealing the heavens. All other platforms floated aside as the gym leaders platform floated down, revealing a man wearing a white suit and a colorful propeller hat.

"Well well well... I'm Jack, the Comet town gym leader. Today, I'm going to only use two pokemon."
Aaron and Matt laughed.
"You sure about that." Matt said, "I mean, we're on a roll."
"Yeah, we haven't busted much of a sweat..." Aaron added.

"I miss when the protagonists were silent." Jack said, "Whatever, just get ready!"

Jack tossed out a pokemon into the air and in a burst of light, a Pidgey began to soar. Next, he rolled one onto the ground, and a geodude skipped on the ground to a halting stop before lifting himself with his two arms.

"Okay, CHESPIN I CHOOSE YOU!" Aaron shouted, flailing his arms.
"A-Aaron... Chespin is already..." Matt said, "Whatever, Honedge, Chespin, put in work!"

Geodude dashed at Honedge and punched the floating blade, sending it back a few feet. Honedge responded by slashing at Geodude, but its slashes were blocked.

Meanwhile, Pidgey began a series of repetitive diving and attempted pecking at Chespin. Chespin retaliated by headbutting. Pidgey landed a direct peck, and Chespin began to stagger back several feet.

"CHESPIN!" Aaron shouted, "GET IN THIS!"

Jack laughed, "You shouldn't see me as an enemy, but I am here to essentially hurt your pokemon." Jacks propeller hat began spinning extremely fast, "Grass doesn't beat flying. It isn't even close."

"Okay then... I'll beat you with grass moves." Aaron smirked. "CHESPIN, USE GRASS FIGHTER!"

Chespin smiled, and began to glow a slight green hue, more vines grew from the ground. Several vines shot from the platform and whipped at the Pidgey, directly hitting it, sending it into a freefall. Next, Chespin spat out an acorn, and bit off the stem as if it were a grenade pin. He threw it at the falling Pidgey, and a large, thorny bush sprouted from the acorn, surrounding the Pidgey.
Chespin looked at Honedge, who had just nearly chopped Geodude in half, but stopped itself as a sign of mercy.

"Good job you four!" Jack said happily, "No speech needed, because you already know what I'm about to say."

"You just earned a gym badge."
