Hahahahahahahaha.
The idealism is strong in this one.

I thought I was already doing that!
I only call people imbeciles when they won't listen. I treat everyone else as someone worthy of my knowledge.

Ok, so what you (in my opinion) should try doing is look from their perspective at why they aren't listning.

When people read your posts they will most likely have a serious voice in their head for your words. So they will think "this person is trying to be mean! I don't want to agree with him! "

I often use these steps to eliminate this;

1. Show that you know where the other person is coming from.

"Ok, so you think *opinion here* because of *points made*, right? Ok, so yes, you are right that *the logic in their points* BUT *what they fail to understand here*

2. Avoid accidentally giving a "I AM TRYING TO DOMINATE YOU" vibe. At least that's the best way I can describe it. People are quick to assume that someone has a certain tone oon the internet because you can't hear the other persons voice. This is the same reason sarcasm is often hard to see online.

3. Everyone is different. Think about which specific words will make them see things from your point of view based on what you know about said people. They will probably think "oh, I get it." when they hear the right specific words.

4. If they don't agree, make sure as hell that they at least leave the devate with something to think about. Over time, their opinions could change on their own after they contemplate what you tell them. I've seen this happen many times.

People assume things. That's why getting people to listen is so difficult. If it doesn't seem worth the effort, then you probably haven't noticed the "good" it causes. People improve on an intellectual level when they are able to see things from everyone elses perspective.

I stopped reading at the first line.

The reason they aren't listening is simple- they're imbeciles.
