There are many questions that we as human beings ask. However, there are some questions that can never be answered. The question of life after death is one of the questions that we will simply never be able to answer.

To me, the afterlife is something no living being can comprehend until it is our time to go. There's no way to absolutely determine that there is a Heaven or Hell, but there's also no way to determine that we are reincarnated or are released into a spirit form.

I can't think about it for too long. Well I can, but then it will become almost impossible for me to stay motivated or connect with people for a few hours.

If I could chose what happened after death, it'd be reincarnation.

I remember reading a book written by a heart specialist (doctor) in the 1970's who recounted patient's reactions after they were revived by modern technology. It was pretty interesting, and I'm certainly convinced that our souls live on after death...not just from the book's accounts, but I've heard the same sort of stories from people I've met personally.

For example, the author recalled a time when a nurse hung herself. He found her and tried reviving her...she was recovered into a coma and remained that way for months. When she finally awoke, she told the doctor every detail about the day he revived her...what he was wearing, what he was doing, what she was thinking to herself--that she was trying to tell him to stop, but he wouldn't listen...all while she was clinically dead.

Another story (that I've heard a lot from different people) is people hearing and even watching the doctor's pronounce them dead, often from a third-person stand point.

The more disturbing stories were like the one where a man died in the hospital. The doctor revived him, only to have the man wake up screaming that he went to hell. He died and got revived several times, until finally he said "How can I be saved?"...the doctor wasn't a Christian at the time, but he recounted his Sunday school lessons from childhood and suggested praying...I can't recall exactly what happened after that, but if I remember correctly, the man recovered and continued to live as a Christian in peace. There were other accounts of people believing that they woke up in hell when they died...though they could only remember those details for a few minutes after revival, after a good hour it would be completely out of their memory. It's just really interesting food for thought...odd how some people seem to go immediately to Heaven or Hell, while others only remember remaining where they died.

I've heard of out-of-body experiences. A lot of resuscitated patients don't remember anything, though.. So why just a few? Do you think it has to do with the time they have left before they're braindead?

I'm also curious on whether the visions differ depending on the religions/beliefs of the dying person. Would people who practice Hinduism see themselves being born higher on the chart?

Just food for thought. Imma go google this stuff now.

^What are you talking about. Yes, I kind of believe it because I want it to be true. But it seems more unlikely (to me ) that you'd only have one life and then randomly stop living. I'm not a Buddhist. I just agree with one of the aspects of the religion.

Oh boo hoo, sorry that you don't like that. I am aware that it isn't random that you die. What I was trying to say is that after you die you're just dead. That you won't have another thing to go on to. The basis of my thought process is actually due to my dogs who have passed away. I know that before explaining this to you, you'll think it's stupid and not strong enough to base a belief on. Well too bad for you. Anyway, my dogs Lucy and Shaineh died a while ago. Some years ago we got another dog named Lottie. Like my dog Shaineh she had a white tip on her tail, and when she folds her ears out she looks like Lucy. Also, she was born the day Shaineh died, and came with a leash from the Lucy leash company. I think she's reincarnated. That's the basis of my belief.

^ is she a reincarnation of two dogs or just the one? I mean, if you got the same type of breed (or perhaps a mix of the breed) then it's pretty obvious why she would look similar to--or remind you of--your past dogs. The leash that came with her has nothing to do with your dog as an organism, so that seems more like a coincidence.

It seems there's only a very small window for people to remember what happened when they died...perhaps this time frame is either more or less for different people. Could be only milliseconds for some or minutes for others. Could have something to do with the nature of their death or how long they were dead for, too.


There was that one kid who "died and went to heaven" and wrote a book about it....personally I think that was utter BS. Considering other people lose their memory of their death experience so soon, the kid was likely filling in blanks or perhaps just remembering a dream. Also, his description of heaven wasn't acurate to the Bible despite the fact that he claimed to be Christian, so that's why I personally dismiss it...

Many of the people who believed they woke up in hell didn't even believe in the bible, so that sort of make their experiences "more powerful", though who knows.

^I believe that if she were it'd be Shaineh because Lucy was still alive when Lottie was born. But I feel like the leash thing was a coincidence, but the coincidence coincided with my belief that my dead dogs are somehow involved with Lottie. Lucy and Shaineh were completely different breeds. Lucy was black lab and dalmatian while Shaineh was a border collie and some short haired dog I don't know the breed of. Lottie is chocolate lab and some type of hound. So, they're all mutts. Because of this, it would be pretty hard to have the same appearance if she is really mixed breed. The thing that set it all into motion was that I found out Lottie's birthday was Shaineh's death day.
