I don't see the problem here. Does this harm anyone? No. Are there benefits? Yes.

Are people playing god? First of all, nobody's "playing around" here. This is science. This is curiosity. This is art. Humans will do everything that's possible and continue to advance themselves and discover new things, because sitting where you are as a species without change is too boring to be concerned about wether or not god would be a bit peeved if we pretended to be like him by gaining and applying knowledge to benefit mankind.

God isn't mad about genetic engineering, guys. He isn't mad about deformities, he's silent about abortion, and he has absolutely nothing to say about breeding animals.

What makes you think there will be "serious consequences" this time? He will be silent about this as well.

Why would you want to alter your baby to be something else? You could seriously harm them sometime in the future and I'd be sad if my mom or dad tried to change me through unnatural means.

You said there would be two countries. A bad country with bad people in it and a good country with good people in it. When you died, if you were a bad dude you reincarnated into the bad country and if you were a good dude you reincarnated into the good country. This was all independent of the country you were born in.

Ah yes, I remember it all now. My version of reincarnation always has some of your past memories coming back, so people on the bad island could learn from their mistakes eventually.
