Golden flower is a re-skinned fire flower. Tanooki tail isn't new. Golden enemies are normal enemies with a texture and palette swap.

None of those are rehashes, Zelda brings new things, so does Dragon Quest. Mario Party is maybe rehashed a bit. Smash Bros only has three games, each completely different in visuals, sound, content, interface, and even some gameplay mechanics. You aren't funny, witty, or even very smart, so stop trying to act like it.

Mario Kart isn't a rehash, MK7 came a bit close, but the use of coins to unlock things(Something NSMB 2 should of had), graphics, underwater, gliding, new items, and overall track design saved it.

Not a fan of the huge lack of characters though. The game takes up much less than 1GB, surely they could have fit more in?

A long time, dur. But that doesn't make Miyamoto's accomplishments any less. NSMB 2 WAS easy to make, because they already had New Super Mario Bros to go on. When Miyamoto made DonkeyKong and Super Mario Bros, they were completely fresh ideas.@Jeran
