Seems ironic for a carpenter for a carpenter to be nailed to wood. Not to mention, irony seems subjective for the most part.

Having nothing much to do, I decided to check the forums after such a long time and after reading through comments on this thread, I chose to shed some light on the topic of gender.

Gender is defined as " the state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones)."

Someone who identifies with the gender corresponding with the sex they were born with is known as a cisgender person.

Someone who identifies with the gender corresponding with the opposite sex they were born with is known as a transgender person.

Someone who does not identify with typical binary genders can simply be known as a non-binary person.

The non-binary umbrella covers a lot of genders, including androgyne(an androgynous gender, they feel both masculine and feminine), intergender(not quite male, not quite female), agender(they do not feel like they fit under male or female), genderfluid (can feel at one point in time they are more of a male gender and then at another point they feel they are more of a female gender), and more. Do you have to know every single possible way someone can feel? No. That does not mean you can make fun of it either.

Understanding and trying to fathom how someone can feel this way when you do not feel this way is difficult and there's a very very small chance you will understand how any of the people that identify as transgender or any non-binary gender feel.

Gender identity is an innermost, deep feeling. Gender is taught by society and these people know how they feel. Labeling it to share with people how they feel IS NOT A PROBLEM.

I will also make a point that gender identity does not directly correlate with sexual orientation.


TLDR; (I strongly suggest reading, however) There are two binary genders but people are not limited to feeling one of them and some people can feel "degrees of how binary they are" (I guess that's the best way to put it..) and just because you do not understand how these people feel or how they can even feel that way because you don't feel that way, DOESN'T MEAN YOU ARE IN A POSITION TO TELL THEM HOW THEY FEEL OR TRY TO INVALIDATE THEM AS A PERSON.

I've learned a lot about gender over time and I will be happy to answer questions people have and will do my best to answer them.
