paramount (2015-10-19 03:14:06)Zankyou no Terror is soo good. It's a blend of action(-ish), mystery, and drama. I loved the plot and characters.
Parasyte is great too. Lots of action, gore, and blood. Pretty good character development too. :~)

*El Cazador De La Bruja--approximately 26 episodes: Emphasis on character development, gunplay, supernatural fantasy... It's about a bounty hunter escorting a witch who doesn't know her own powers, across Mexico, avoiding pursuers and meeting new acquaintances along the way.
*Kurozuka--short series: Emphasis on gore, sci-fi, violence and obsessive romance. It's about a 'prince' (some sort of royalty) who, after escaping into the woods, meets a vampire, gets turned into one, and spends the next several centuries trying to find her again. Mature warning.
*Shiki--about a season long: Emphasis on twisted horror, gore and lust. It's about vampires invading a small community, and whereas many characters are unlikable and the animation is... strange at best, it's a delightfully twisted series through and through, with an emphasis on character relationships in the small town in the midst of an unsolvable crisis. Mature warning.
*Murder Princess-- about 5 episodes: Emphasis on violence, blood and fantasy. It's about a princess who, after a freak accident, must band together with unlikely acquaintances to take down a mad scientist and his mechanical allies. Can't recall how mature this one is, but I'll put a mature warning for this one, too.
And one that you may have heard of:
*Senran Kagura: Ninja Flash--about one season long: Emphasis on action, fanservice, friendship and 'mature' humour. Loosely based on the 3DS game Senran Kagura Burst, this is about two rival Ninja schools clashing and coming together to defeat a common enemy. Recommending the Japanese dub for this one (the English dub sounds chipmunk-y, and the dialogue is noticeably more immature). Mature warning.

Cool that's what I was thinking about. I keep trying to remember his name but I can only come up with Masami Eiri but that's Lain, so I know it isn't that.
The name Sogo Makushima came up. It's similar to that, right?
