- The compliments from little kids. They think it's

- Unlike dyeing your hair a different natural color.. you don't have to touch up the roots until they get horrible because it's not like anybody thought your hair was naturally purple or blue or whatever anyways...
- You can express yourself through your hair color.
- You can match your outfits with your hair color.
- It can give you a better identity.
- It's just fun.

Not sure why you care about the opinions of both of these opposite age groups. Not really sure why you want old people to not like you, I guess you're trying to be edgy? I mean it's one thing for an older individual to judge you based off of your appearance, that's their opinion and you shouldn't care. But purposely doing it is a little lame, don't you think? Really juvenile.

I think everyone can agree with me that roots look even more disgusting growing out when you have hair dyed an unnatural color most of the time. Unless a person is lying, I never once cared or will care about if their natural hair is showing proving that they dyed it. People don't look for that, people don't do that, people dye their hair. Big deal. The fact of the matter is that it looks ugly and sloppy on people with their hair dyed natural colors and unnatural ones.

Is this a last ditch effort if you're unable to express yourself through your personality and actions? I can express myself perfectly fine without special aesthetics. You can shave me bald and put me in a potato sack and I'd still be able to express myself. If expressing yourself is showing people your hair color, then you have a lot to learn about self-expression.
- You can match your outfits with your hair color.
A lot of stuff is going to clash and you'll be able to wear even less without looking retarded. Not much to say here. This is a pretty weak reason.
- It can give you a better identity.
Your APPEARANCE should NOT be your identifying factor. See what I said about self-expression.
- It's just fun.

Barbara, why does it matter that my hair is purple? You have like 5 years to live. Stop complaining about my generation. You raised the generation that raised mine.
- I literally said until the roots look disgusting. When I see a fake blonde I hate when I see a fourth of inch of roots but with unnatural hair you could go on until about 2 inches.
- It's not that I can't express myself but hair color just helps.

- It's not my appearance alone that should give one an identity but you should really consider your appearance a part of yourself. I feel like arguing that you appearance can't be a part of your identity just sounds so basic
. And yeah. It is fun. Plus unnatural dye isn't permanent so if you try it and get tired of it, it typically washes in 4-6 weeks depending on the brand.
However if you had dark hair and bleached it you'll have to cover it up with dye now.
That's why if you're dark haired and you're only trying it once I recommend that you only do a streak or the tips or something.
