Sperm alone is not a baby. Eggs alone are not a baby. Until these two combine, THEN it's a baby, who IS a person....they're just at their very first stage of development, which will be fully complete when they're approximately 20-30 years old (when the brain has fully matured).

If everyone is worried about overpopulation, why is no one freaking out over surrocates or artificial implantation? There are many people who go through drastic measures to HAVE children...while there are others who are killing innocence to NOT have any. It would seem simpler to hand unwanted babies to someone who does want babies. But that's just not the way they want it....Because just about everyone in this society is selfish and feel entitled to get exactly what they want, innocent undeveloped people are dying.

I think there are greater issues that society needs to figure out than abortion.



Edit: Also, just because something is legal doesn't mean it's right. Slavery used to be legal (and still is in some countries) but people still opposed that, and rightfully so.

Don't get me wrong, it makes me sad when babies die, but when someone gets raped, especially a younger person, there is no way you could possibly convince me that having an abortion in that situation is somehow wrong.

What I was trying to say concerning weather or not it's legal, is that the fact that it's legal should make people actually use their minds and try to figure out why it's a possability their opinion is wrong rather than just assume there is no good reason. A rational person tries to see things from each perspective.

There's a reason they use surrogates and implantation.. They want to birth their own kids, or at least give the baby genes from one parent. There are millions of kids waiting for adoptions and millions of starving, homeless kids to choose from. Why create more when there is already enough waiting to be adopted? I'm sure if the aspirant parent actually wanted to adopt a kid they would have.

Let's say those women put their kids up for adoption instead of aborting. The kids are going to be less likely to be chosen. Not many people are willing to take in crackbabies, much less special kids.
