TapRoot0ak (2016-08-05 08:49:30)I was looking up if Bambi was a boy or not so I typed in, "Is Bambi". And one of the top searches is, "Is Bambi Transgender".
BirdJesus (2016-08-05 17:30:41)I don't see how not wanting people to self-harm is toxic.

TheIronMadden (2016-08-05 18:10:06)I personally think watching those Disney YouTube channels where grown ups dress up like characters from Frozen and Spiderman is self-harm.
Also, they have Batman characters in those videos, which is DC Comics, and that really triggers me because it isn't related to Disney at all. I'm not joking at all. I really do get triggered.

BirdJesus (2016-08-06 02:34:25)High heels are a frivolous consumer item. Sex is not, but people sure seem to treat it like one.

Don't you mean "our"
Encouraging a mental disorder is irresponsible for science and society to even consider. Gender dysphoria should be treated just like all other mental disorders, not celebrated and given special "rights". Because of its exposure in positive lights and global movement to make it accepted as "normal", I believe it's encouraging impressionable people (namely children and teenagers) to misdiagnose themselves, so to speak. Most gender dysphoric teens end up growing out of their phase, so certainly there's some evidence of it being a social construct of sorts, rather than a legitimate "incurable" disorder (for most people, anyway).
Whether it's subconsciously being used as a tool for attention, or maybe the affects of added hormones in our food, or legitimately a mental disorder; there have been studies which found promising treatments for gender dysphoria that helps the victim lead a normal "cisgender" life. A responsible society and science field should be exploring and encouraging these treatments instead of forcing the majority to conform to the unnatural whims of the mentally challenged.
And as for gender itself...gender does not determine one's pronouns. Sex determines your pronouns, which then determines your gender. There are undeniable physical and mental differences between men and women, and the pronouns used to identify either sex should indicate some things you can expect from the person based on scientific facts of their sex. How you like to spend your time, or what career path you choose, or what mannerisms you portray, does not change your biological development. This is why having a mental disorder or getting serious cosmetic surgery should not give anyone the right to officially change their pronouns, because you cannot officially change your biology.
Therefore, because there are only two sexes, there are only two genders.
Gender roles, on the other hand, is a completely difference topic which isn't worth getting into right now.
TheIronMadden (2016-08-06 13:44:50)^ Do you realize that many medical clinics intentionally misdiagnose people with other disorders, like autism, in order to take money from them? You say kids and teens will start to misdiagnose themselves as "gender dysphoric," when doctors and other individuals that have PhD's have been misdiagnosing their paitents way before transgenderism became an issue. They misdiagnose so they can request their paitents to seek out certain treatments or use specific medications in order to gain more money from them.
