spadeguy (2013-07-17 03:48:01)I'd hate to just spam with a bump so I'll spoil it a little.
This story is about a challenge where several contestants are tasked with going through several challenges in... special... arenas. Only there's a twist. See, in some challenges their only objective is to survive like in a burning forest, in others the contestants must search for items. I won't spoil much more, but trust me, there's bound to be a good amount of everything in this series.
I should probably write a new story... but will I finish it?

spadeguy (2013-07-17 13:35:58)Ryan and I made our way to the main room. I stood there completely amazed, as it was perfect. The carpet had an arcane pattern and two staircases curved downwards. A large chandelier was found in the center of the room. The entrance was completely glass, and the whole place had a fancy air about it. Ryan and I made our way downstairs and I took in the view along the way.
"So this is where we live?" I asked, "This looks a bit big for only 15 people..."
"That's because it is too big for only 15 people. See," he explained, "after the competition is over this is your home. So you'll have to make sure you're used to it. Meaning all past contestants live here."
I nodded in understanding.
We opened the door into the dining hall and suddenly I lost my will to eat...
it was a jungle.
Leaves and trees everywhere. We walked forwards along a dirt path and ended up at a large breakfast table. 8 people sat there, 5 guys and 4 girls. We seated ourselves. The entire table sat silent as we looked at one another. A pretty girl kept staring over at me, and I made no attempt to seem interested in her whatsoever.
Makes girls love ya!
I looked at the platter on the table in front of me. It had a large steak and eggs. I reached for the knife and fork in front of me and I was completely shocked!
HOLY CRAP I HAVE A TATTOO!!! Okay... stay calm... it's just your name. At least I got green.
I played it off and ate my steak as Ryan made several futile attempts to start conversation.
"So Ryan. You gonna eat your food?" I asked, ", steak and eggs dude."
Ryan lifted the top to his platter and there was a card. He lifted it up and read it aloud.
"I bet you'd kill for some breakfast right now..." A beep sounded, "I don't get it. I guess I'm supposed to... HOLY S**T! Aaron... a-a freaking lion!" I turned around and there I saw it. The table cleared as several members began running.
I grabbed my sharp kitchen knife, as did Ryan and the girl who kept staring at me. Ryan and I walked towards the lion as the girl tossed her knife and caught it by the sharp tip with her hand and forefinger. She then threw it at the lion and got a direct hit between the eyes. I ran forwards and stabbed it's neck to speed up the process. Ryan sat back down and sarcastically said "I hope you don't like eggs Aaron."
"Fine dude, their yours." I laughed.
After breakfast we made our way to the main room. There stood a man with a large boa-constrictor at his feet. He wore a black tuxedo shirt and sweatpants. We stood in a line facing him.
"Good... you're here. For this challenge I will need 4 of you. I hope you've enjoyed breakfast." He smiled looking directly at Ryan.
"Yeah. Who wouldn't love killing lions. Can't get enough..."
"Well all of those who would like to compete step forward and make your way to the bus."
I quickly step forwards.
"Aaaah... eager are we?" The host said, getting a couple laughs from the crowd.
Ryan and a muscular man step forwards, followed by another average guy. After taking some time, the host stepped forwards and said, "Arms out."
I assumed he meant the tattoo on my left arm. Ryan had it on his right arm, although I'm guessing they're decided by your dominant hand because the other 2 guys had it on their right arms too.
"Aaron... Ryan... John... and Zack. You've taken a challenge that may be too much for you. Here's the question, are you ready?"
The lights turn off and we're standing in the center of a circular shadow... it's a ball... OH GOODNESS IT'S!
"A POKEBALL!"
Ryan and I shout in unison.
"Good. You're well familiar with these creatures, but..." The lights turned back on to show him smiling.
"Would you fight one for your dream?"

spadeguy (2013-07-18 03:11:10)On the bus drive there we split into two different groups. Me and Ryan in one, John and Zach in the other. We didn't prefer to talk with the others, although their conversation seemed important. It was Zach explaining Pokemon to the buffer John who, quite frankly, didn't seem interested in the least. Although there could be multiple victors, and power is found in numbers, John seemed to find it crucial in his part to seperate us from him and Zach, who was obviously the brains.
"Ugh... this stupid tattoo is distracting," Ryan began, "and ever since he told us that they doubled as communicators I swear that it grew a little. There were no waves on either side."
I stared at my arm and notice the "Wifi" symbol near the green name tattoo on my arm. I laughed, although it was shortly lived. The bus came to a stop, and we stood up to leave, but after a quick look outside the window I decided to stop our exit.
"Stop!"
Ryan halts and looks back with a confused look on his face,
"Uhh... WHY IS SHE NAKED?!?"
This stops them.
"Who?" John asks,
"Nobody. I needed to stop you. Let me tell you about a little thing called... "foreshadowing". Now in the movies, those stupid people tend to leave the group and end up dying. Why? Well they obviously didn't check their surroundings. They died because they were caught off guard. I'll tell you one thing..." I looked away, I had to choose my next words carefully.
"If you think this'll be easy. Kill yourself right now.
This hits home with them. I look forwards and notice a large Rhydon charging at us. We run out of the back emergency exit, and sprint for the forest making sure to stop in a clearing. Along the way there are several large pokemon dangers such as Turtwig and Chimchar... not so much Piplup. I actually kick a Piplup, and it soars majestically through the air and cracks its skull on a boulder. We remove the body and set up camp. Well Ryan and I, as John and Zach set off for a hint on our current objective. We find out how the telecommunication in our tattoos work sorta. Basically it's witchcraft, and normally people would be burned for having it.
"Well" I start, "So far we've been sitting for roughly 5 seconds and I already don't feel comfortable."
"Well be thankful that Piplup you killed wasn't dangerous... then again Piplup are pretty docile."
We sit and joke about the humor of Pokemon, and the immense amount of fail held within Linoone.
We're kept on edge by a constant ruffling in the bushes. After a couple of seconds it stops. However a few minutes later, it's extremely loud and surrounding us. A group of Luxray charge at us, and we attempt to run. We go back to the boulder... wait nevermind. The boulder is gone. OH GOODNESS!
A large Graveler stands, holding the bloody skull of a Luxray. It throws it out of sight and roars.
This was definitely not in the game...

spadeguy (2013-07-18 14:39:57)ROOOOOOAAAAAAAAARG!
Ryan and I break for it, but the Luxray are too fast. Ryan gets tackled to the ground by one, but I kick it off of him. Graveler breaks into a sprint and attempts to crush a Luxray, but is met with a lightningbolt so fierce that it explodes. That's the end of that... Ryan and I attempt to flee, but find ourselves surrounded once more. I realize that we can't rely on miracles such as Graveler if we want to survive. Picking up a nearby rock, I charge at one. Ryan takes a stick and does the same. I swing at one, but it jumps back, then sends a lightningbolt at me, but only hitting the rock out of my hand. It attempts to tackle me but is met with a fierce uppercut, causing it to be vertical in the air. I jab its stomach then turn quickly to watch my back. Ryan seemed to be having more luck, he's already taken out 2 of them. He swung the stick and hit one directly in the snout, then ran towards me.
"RUN! I CAN'T STAND THESE THINGS!" He shouted,
I was in no position to argue, as this was in fact the perfect opportunity to run. As we ran one smaller pokemon followed us... a Turtwig. It must've been being hunted too. I saw it running out of breath and ran back to it. I ran back.
"What's going on?" Ryan shouted, coming to a stop,
I replied
"I saw this guy chasing us! I couldn't help but feel bad for it.
I picked up the panting Turtwig, and we continued running.
Off in the distance on a tree there was a note. Ryan must not have seen it. I signal him over to it, and we start reading it.
"Go to sleep, and awaken in paradise. If you survive."
I saw two marks on each side. One was a "J", the other a "Z". It was in dried mud. I look down and wipe my finger in the dirt. Then I make an "A".
"Ryan, put an "R" there, it's just in case they come back."
He does, and then we set off. Turtwig walking alongside us. I Ryan begins singing a stupid song about Friday, when suddenly a man wrapped in blue gauze approaches screaming "SAAAAAAUUK!"
Me: Sock?
Guy: SAAAAAAUK!!
Me: Soak?
Guy: SAAAAAAAUK!!!11!
Ryan: Sack?
Guy: SAAAAUK!!¡¡!one!!
Turtwig: BULBASAUR!
Me: Wait... wut?
Suddenly the guy starts doing weird gymnastics stuff, when out of nowhere a huge floating happy ice-cream cone speeds by, sweeping him into an icy cave.
"Well... o-okay..."
We finish walking and find a large coliseum. Entering it proves to be impossible, so we don't! We walk around it, and set up camp on the side. Meaning we lay down on the ground and try our best to sleep...
"Hey Aaron..."
"Yes, Ryan."
"If Turtwig doesn't have ears, how does it hear?"
"Ryan, that's a good question. I'll answer it with another question... no. I just won't answer it."
We fall asleep. Only, soon we're woken up to the sound of Turtwig fighting a Darmanitan!
It uses bullet seed, horribly wounding the opposing pokemon. Darmanitan begins bleeding out, and turns to stone. However it stops moving... well. Makes sense. Turtwig appeared very hurt, and falls to the ground. I run over to it, and pick it up. Looking up reveals 3 figures walking towards me...
No... not more pokemon. I'll kill them all... oh wait those are people. It's... Zach! There's also a Lucario! That's not John... he must have...
Hello! My name is Red. I saw this guy here trying to cross the river. His friend... tried fighting a Magikarp and died. I tried warning him that splash attack was dangerous in real life..."
"It happens" I reply, "We need to sleep!"
He pulls out a pokeball, and out comes Jigglypuff. Before I can kick it far away, it sings, and I'm instantly knocked out.
I did it! First challenge... I won!...

spadeguy (2013-07-22 03:31:07)I awaken in a dimly lit room. The walls are dirty and the wallpaper is ripped and peeled off in certain areas. It looks like I'm in a hospital... only I get the feeling that this one doesn't "heal" people. I try getting up only to realize that I'm tied down. Not very legit, I noticed that the knot on my left arm was loose. A tray next to my hospital bed contained bloody hospital instruments. The blood was dry, and I there were no noticeable changes to my body. Other than the fact that I was tied up to a hospital bed... in an unknown location... and you know... I had no idea how I got here. A noise is very apparent somewhere to the right of my room. I can't make it out. Kinda like bumping at first but then... screams...
Something bad is happening
I hear screams coming from two rooms over. At first it was average screams (if that's even a thing), but soon it changed.
Excruciating screams.
These screams get louder and louder, for 10 minutes, until finally it stops. The sound of screaming is replaced by that of laughter. Intense laughter. I hear footsteps, and then the door next to the room I was in opened. I had to leave, fast.
I wriggled my left arm until the loose knot completely untied. I tried untying my other arm, but no use. I pulled until the fragile bedframe broke. Standing up proves to be a mistake, as I turn around to see a very clear message. Written in blood on the wall is "Make it Home" On a dissection tray next to it was an arm... severed and twitching. On it was a glowing white tattoo, that had a name...
JOHN
That was enough to make me want to escape. I made my way to the door, picking up a VERY sharp portable buzzsaw.
Where do these guys get these things?
I gently push the door open and crouch down. I first turn to my left, and see a window. I'd have to go the other way... crap. I quickly take in the view of the hallway. A dingy wreck of an abandoned hospital, looked straight out of a horror movie. Vines grew on the darkened walls and the floor tiles were cracked. Well. This would be fun.
I began walking when I hear a singing, followed by a loud bang from the room next to the one I awakened in. Suddenly the door flies off the hinges. I run over to peer into the room, only to find a masked man holding a chainsaw. Next to the man was a Lucario, and hanging by chains was a Turtwig. The man walked over to two pink objects on the ground... wait that's.
JOKETIME with Aaron!
What's pink, in half, and red all over?
Jigglypuff
Not funny... I know... anywho!
The masked stranger followed a trail of blood to see a large leaf, with razor sharp edges. I shall refer to it as a Razor Leaf.
That Turtwig looks familiar... like the one who followed me in the forest.
It looks up at me, then croaks. it's shell was cracked, and it looked scared. It didn't take long for Lucario to look at me too. I broke into a sprint and activated the electric buzzsaw. I swung at the pokemon, who quickly dodged and shot an orb of energy at me. I dodged it and abruptly made my way towards the Turtwig. I started grinding at the chains, there were only two. One on one front leg, another on one back leg. Lucario alerted its master, who glared at me. The first chain broke, and Turtwig fell to the ground. He stumbled to his feet and collapsed, unconscious.
"Damn! This is your fault... you hurt my friend... no hard feelings. You probably didn't know he was my friend." I said bluntly, "Unfortunately, that changes nothing. I'm gonna have to beat you."
"Beat me?" The masked man said in a familiar voice, "Pokemon are superior creatures. You'll die in this place." He said, taking out a stereo, "LEEEETS BATTLE!" He began playing the battle theme from Pokemon Black. He bobbed up and down, and Lucario began doing strange movements.
I threw the buzzsaw at his stereo, and it burst into flames, exploding and shards flew into Lucario seriously injuring it.
"Dude... just no... no..." I said disappointed.
He tossed Lucario a berry... and Lucario ate it. Surprisingly enough, Lucario didn't heal at all. I laughed for a little, which gave Lucario time to approach me. He began charging a HUGE ball of energy. Parts of the hospital room began to explode, as objects were drawn into the orb as it grew. I looked around the room, and a tray was sliding towards the energy orb. I noticed a katana and reached for it! Only I missed and instead picked up a bent spoon. The tray, and the mysterious mans mask was drawn into the orb of extreme killing potential. I got a good look at the man, and surely enough I knew them. It was Red... the friendly man guy from the forest. He began speaking.
"Yes! You now see the-" I couldn't hear the rest over the sound of the orb which had grown to the size of half of the room. Lucario shot it at me, and I braced for impact... but...
BUT IT FAILED

It was a perfect life.
Everything you could ever want. The finest foods, the greatest videogames, invitations to the greatest parties. It was a guaranteed lifetime of pleasure. All in the palm of your hand...
but is it worth it?
The competition seemed like something of legends. You'd wake up one morning in a beautiful house. All of your friends and family would have no recollection of who you were, and it would be yours.
All of it.
The Arena of Myth was as it's title implied, a myth. No way to tell wether or not it really happened, although there were rumors. The myth goes that you'd be sent into a mansion. There would be 10 competitors, and after a series of challenges, they'd be sent on their way with a special type of debit-card allowing an infinite amount of cash. There were tons of stories, and tons of different ways they were told.
I never really cared about them until I was chosen. Unfortunately once you're chosen, the promise of lifelong happiness lures you in, you just can't say no. Even when you're fully aware of the consequences. You'll say yes in the end, but you'll come to regret it. Once you say yes, you're in the game. So is it worth it?
Lets find out.
My name is Aaron Fair, and I'll be your guide to the wonderful world of... no I really don't understand what's happening either. I awake in a pitch black room, in a daze. I'm laying in a bed with thick, fluffy sheets over me. It seems to be a nuisance but after a couple of minutes I manage to slide out of bed. Next problem, the lights. I take a couple steps forward and collapse.
Why do I feel so weak?
I crawl forward until I reach the wall... or something... after feeling around for a few seconds it seems to be a dresser. I make my way up to my feet, using it as leverage. Then I slowly inch along the walls until I feel...
A lightswitch! I'll just make sure to close my eyes so I'm not too shocked by the-
BOOM!
The door bursts open, and the room fills with light.
"MY EYES! WHYYY SWEET JESUS?" I scream in pure agony. I collapse to the ground covering my eyes with my hands. A male voice starts speaking.
"Oh look. Another basement dweller. How nice..."
I open my eyes, squinting, and soon my eyes are used to the light. It's then that I see him.
An average sized white boy stands in the doorway smirking, his hands in his jeans. On his arm is a tattoo glowing in bright blue light, showing the name Ryan. I get to my feet, and chuckle.
"Basement dweller huh? Sounds like someone woke up in the wrong side of the cardboard box." I slyly reply, "Well... Ryan. What am I doing here?"
His smile widens.
"We're gonna get along just fine. You're in the competition. It looks like we're all headed down to breakfast. Coming? Well first you should get dressed... Aaron. AWW MAN! You got green! Lucky... I'll wait outside your door for you."
I quickly turn the lights on, and he slams the door shut.
I examine the room. A large television with a Playstation 1... clearly no entertainment options. The bed looks wonderful, it even has drapes. An ATM looking machine is on the side of the room.
"Hey Ryan! What's this weird machine?" I shout into the hallway.
"It's a Playstation. I hear back in the day people would throw them at peo-"
"No the other thing!" I say laughingly
"Oh that?" He replies, "Type in the type of clothes you want and it'll come out of the slot."
I order up a blue shirt with Pac-Man in the center, and some grey sweatpants. Then I get some regular running shoes. After a quick swap from my PJ's I meet Ryan in the hallway.
The hallway is strange. Instead of the average things, it seems that it has gymnastics mats and padded obstacles, plus ropes on the ceiling that seem to lead across very large gaps with trampolines at the bottom.
"Welcome to the Mansion dude! It's not all like this, I got a peek at the other halls. All the obstacles are harmless, but unfortunately you can't make your way through without a little bit of skills."
"I'm game!" I happily reply, while cracking my knuckles, "I actually did a little parkour back home. This looks fun!"
I run and vault over a raised pad. Then I land. Without stopping I wall run halfway across a gap, then jump to the rope hanging over it, swinging to the other side before continuing my wall run. After landing with a roll, I get back up and see Ryan laugh then follow along.
He's good! I see a definite alliance here.
He gets towards me and gives a nice laugh, "Ha! You're pretty good at this! Looks like it's time to head down to breakfast! Race you there! He says."
"Oh it is SOOO on!" I
provokesay.Yeah. It's on!
Thanks for reading! I'll see if I can add more tomorrow! Now would be the time to add in characters that you'd like to see. I hope you enjoy this story. I made it for you!
