Hellthingm gonna review an awesome game on 3DS eShop: Retro City Rampage DX! Hope you guys enjoy!


Retro City Rampage DX is an 8-Bit action-adventure game! There, you can go on a big open world! Go do some missions, and other stuffs!

STORY

The story starts in the early 1980s. The Player was looking for a job till he finds it! Become a criminal! (They also gave him a cell phone!) And so our "hero" begins his quest. 20 years later, in the year 2012, he became one of the most wanted people in Theftropolis. So every single police enforcement, (and even the SWAT) comes after him. The Player was trying to escape. Then he finds a time machine and goes back to the early 1980s to escape from the government. When he arrives, the time machine brakes, and meets an old scientist. He needs to find the pieces, and repair the time machine to go back to the present.

Overall, great story telling! Kind of sounds familiar... Nah, my mind is playing tricks on me.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay is basically like GTA, you can kill people, steal cars, go into stores, and most importantly, the open world. Therese lot of places to explore.


The controls are so easy to handle and control. It also has some kind of customization controls for driving cars. And when using guns, the auto aiming feature is really handy.

Overall, great gameplay!

GRAPHICS

The graphics are 8-Bit glory! Very colorful and very flashy too. The graphics can also be customized to any past console, to a classic GameBoy to the Amiga gaming PC, and even to the ill-fated Virtual Boy graphics.

Overall, amazing graphics!

MUSIC

The music in this game are very cool. In gameplay, you can change radio stations. Up to 13 different stations to listen to. Each station has either 3 or 4 songs to play. That's a lot of music to listen. But there are some songs that cannot be heard in stations. That's really a bad thing about it, but VBlank announced an update for this problem. But as of right now, we can't listen to all songs. Too bad, it has almost 140 songs to listen to. Anyway, the music is great! Some are very forgettable, but most of it are very memorable, catchy, and addictive 8-bit gloriness!

Overall, great amount of music and good music!

CONTENT

This game has a lot of content! 25 weapons to unlock, 52 vehicles to use, great amount of missions and side quests, and even bonus little mini games!

From Gaijin Games: Bit. Trip Retro City
From Meat Team: Virtual Meat Boy
From Epic Time: Epic Meal Time

Each mini game has 7 levels, so it has a great amount of content!

You can even play the prototype of the game!

Overall, amazing content for an indie game!

REPLAY

Replay value is very high! You have all kinds of places to explore, things to unlock, find secrets, invisible walls, and lots of Easter eggs to find! You still have to find phone numbers, boxes, and accessories to unlock for the Player to use. Up to 200 accessories to unlock!

Overall, amazing amount of replay! This game will keep you busy for months!

CONCLUSION

This game is jam-packed for an indie games. All of that compressed to a little file of 125 blocks! Very high replay value, very high amount of content, addicting gameplay, and more!

Lack of listening to music in game.
