3DSPlaza and what needs to change

This is going to be a long article, so sit back and enjoy your popcorn.

3DSPlaza is dying, some of you are probably laughing, but it obviously isn't growing as registration has been disabled. Speaking of that, lets move onto our first topic.

REGISTRATION

Rob or SomeLuigi need to enable registration again. The reason why they did this is to stop the alt spammers who just go on the chat and spam and rage because they got banned, which I was actually fine at first. I obviously didn't ever imagine that I would see a huge decrease in users in the chat in such little time. The solution to this is, like I said, enable registration, but this time with a twist. On the registration page, email needs to be required. The reason is to verify accounts. When some user puts their email in, they should get an email on that address to verify your account, and then once they log on to their email and click the verify link, they shall gain access to their 3DSPlaza account.

This will help at least 90% of the alts / alt spammers because instead of just simply going to a proxy, they will need an email, and email registration these days require phone numbers to verify. So unless a person has 50 phone numbers, and has the patience to make 50 email's, I don't think we'll be seeing alt spammers anytime soon. This might not solve this issue completely, because people already have multiple emails from when phone numbers weren't required, but still this will help most of it.

MODS

This is probably one of the most discussed problems on this site. In my opinion, I think mods have gotten worse of the years. They weren't ever perfect to begin with, but here are my reason why:

1. Laziness
Not all of the current Plaza mods are lazy, but I have seen a lot of lazy mods. The most controversy mod on this site at the moment is by far Bellamy. Something I saw a week ago really bothered me; some user was trying to test something by doing a rage ban, and then requested a mod to unban them. Bellamy was the only current mod in the chat, and all she was doing was spamming messages about pop bands from Korea like she always do. (No bias, just facts)

When the user was done with their rage ban, he started complaining that Bellamy didn't unban him, and her response was that she was busy when all she was doing was spamming messages about TVQX and stuff.

2. Making up rules
This is by far the reason why I dislike some of the mods. They never agree on how many warnings to give. In 2011, every mod agreed to give 3. 2 warnings and then a ban on the third one. Here are some of the examples I have seen on how mods warn and how they can't agree on anything:

-Referring to warns as strikes, sometimes confusing users (not that often though)

-1/1 ban

- 2/2 ban, but the user doesn't get banned when they reach 2 warnings.

-Banning without even giving any warnings.

-Banning for 1 day, some mods banning for 6 days (no joke), over something like cursing.

3. Low quality
It seems like in 2011, the mods who were picked were for the following reasons:

Were on often, didn't get any warnings or bans, and helping users on the site.

And now it seems like:
Be on 24/7, don't be hated, don't get banned.

I have even seen some really, I mean really retarded ways on how SackThing101 tries to mod people. He did a bvote one time to see who would be the next mod, which is going to gather a lot of bias.

________________________

I do think SackThing101 should stay as community manager, but he needs to be more stricter when it comes to who gets to become moderator, and he needs to give out a global mod rule list. Mods aren't suppose to make up the rules, they're suppose to enforce them, and enforce them ONLY.

Alternative solution show
STRIKE SYSTEM TO RETURN

This could be the 2nd solution to the mods not agreeing on how many times to warn. The strike system could even get updated too: like how if a mod strikes a users post, the system will not give multiple strikes for that post (I don't know if this was already implemented in the old strike system, but just in case, this is a good idea).

Another idea I have for the strike system is for the strikes to reset every month. Strikes usually did stay there forever until they added up and the user got banned, which I feel that is kind of.. not cool. Something could add up to a ban that could have happened like 5 months ago.

UPDATING AND REMOVING STUFF

Updating (and removing) old areas:

The "About the 3DS" section is severely outdated. I mean severely. The section has never been updated since early to mid 2011. While it's funny to laugh at how old it is, it's getting to the point where it's not funny anymore because it's TOO old.

Here are some of the outdated things you will find in this section:

"The Games available at the launch of the Nintendo 3DS (USA: 27 march, Europe: 25 march) is known! Here is the list:

- Pilotwings Resort (Nintendo)
- Nintendogs + cats: Golden Retriever & New Friends (Nintendo)
- Nintendogs + cats: French Bulldog & New Friends (Nintendo)
- Nintendogs + cats: Toy Poodle & New Friends (Nintendo)
- Super Street Fighterâ„¢ IV 3D Edition (Capcom / Distributed by Nintendo)
- The Simsâ„¢ 3 (Electronic Arts)
- PES 2011 3D - Pro Evolution Soccer (Konami Digital Entertainment)
- LEGO® Star Wars™ III The Clone Wars™ (LucasArts)
- RIDGE RACERâ„¢ 3D (Namco Bandai)
- Super Monkey Ballâ„¢ 3D (SEGA)
- SAMURAI WARRIORS: Chronicles (TECMO KOEI)
- Asphaltâ„¢ 3D (Ubisoft)
- Tom Clancy's™ Ghost Recon® Shadow Wars (Ubisoft)
- Tom Clancy's™ Splinter Cell® 3D (Ubisoft)
- Rayman 3D (Ubisoft)"

"As you can see, there are some very interesting games. And these are only the launch games, more games like Mario Kart 3DS and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will come out later."

"There will be a lot of cool 3DS games. Here are some of the best: *Embedded YouTube videos that showcase games that came out 3 years ago*

Some one needs to be in charge of updating this section.

Also, the Triniate forum needs to be removed already. Rob has already stated that all the Triniate files have been whipped out or lost in some sort of crash, so there is no need for a forum on this anymore.

Fixing broken areas:

Another thing is that Jolly Jokes and the 3D Picture Gallery need to be fixed. They have been down for over a complete year.

Updating:

The 3DSPlaza shop needs to be updated every so often with menu themes every so often. We haven't gotten any since early 2012 when Plaza had just turned 1 years old.

Also, I feel we should have another Christmas event to return, but this has been confirmed that there will be none this year, which I hope gets changed. Not only will these events be considered fun by the users, but it will also make them feel that that the site is interacting with them, instead of them interacting with it. (just an idea)

One last thing I need to say. I really hope these ideas and thoughts will be considered and that people won't just look at this thread and never see it again. I really want Plaza to become a better website, that is why I spent 2 hours writing and thinking of stuff to say for this article.

DAYUM Gold. Good stuff bro. I'm glad to see that you care about the website. I agree on most of this. It seems like we need a new admin, too. To be honest, I'm not sure if SomeLuigi is even an admin or not. It's kinda hard to tell. The reason we can't have another Christmas event is because of amount of disrespect towards Zaidbruh and SomeLuigi. They made it happen and many users were ungrateful and whined about being on the naughty list. I'm pretty sure SomeLuigi and Zaidbruh was a little dissapointed. Also, I don't think it's fair for the whole website to have to suffer because of one spammer that took down 3dsplaza. I mean, everybody EARNED those icons it's not our fault some ignorant noob decided to screw up Plaza.

@CoolApps
If email verification was in place, it would still eliminate most alts in general, and if someone does happen to use one of those services, it will still slow the process down dramatically. Like I stated above, it will take care of mostly everything.

"On the registration page, email needs to be required. The reason is to verify accounts"

-What if users don't have emails and not able to register for other specific reasons?

"Not all of the current Plaza mods are lazy, but I have seen a lot of lazy mods. The most controversy mod on this site at the moment is by far Bellamy. "

Oh boy, here we go with the Bellamy drama. Someone go get Nait and Bellamy. We gonna have ourselves a flamewar!

"2. Making up rules
This is by far the reason why I dislike some of the mods. They never agree on how many warnings to give. In 2011, every mod agreed to give 3. 2 warnings and then a ban on the third one. Here are some of the examples I have seen on how mods warn and how they can't agree on anything:

"

Mods seriously do that in the chats? Woah dere, pal.

"I have even seen some really, I mean really retarded ways on how SackThing101 tries to mod people. He did a bvote one time to see who would be the next mod, which is going to gather a lot of bias."

That's pretty retarded of him. Although he wanted the community to decide so that he can make the chats a better interactive place, would you look at this? It's like we're going to war. Almost everyone wants to get rid of Bellamy.

"I do think SackThing101 should stay as community manager, but he needs to be more stricter when it comes to who get banned, and he needs to give out a global mod rule list. Mods aren't suppose to make up the rules, they're suppose to enforce them, and enforce them ONLY."

Nait DID say he would want to get his CM privileges taken away. Besides, he does need a break from all the commotion going on. Besides the hate towards him modding Bellamy, and the previous h8 towards modding little5 ( now that she's less stricter... ), let there be a new CM. Somebody that is twice as strict as Nait... NO, NO. WAIT. 3 times as strict.

"Also, the Triniate forum needs to be removed already. Rob has already stated that all the Triniate files have been whipped out or lost in some sort of crash, so there is no need for a forum on this anymore."

This is more than true. +1 Most Forums need to be removed. This is absolutely ridiculous.

"Another thing is that Jolly Jokes and the 3D Picture Gallery need to be fixed. They have been down for over a complete year."

I doubt it'd be fixed again. Remember when Rob I think was working on Triniate? Hey, where Triniate at?

"Also, I feel we should have another Christmas event to return, but this has been confirmed that there will be none this year, which I hope gets changed. Not only will these events be considered fun by the users, but it will also make them feel that that the site is interacting with them, instead of them interacting with it. (just an idea)"

There will be no event this year? Why not? Who gives a damn what a few users say? Only those who choose to participate can come. For example, there's a Halloween Dance at school, right? Andddd people complain it could be lame and say "NO, NO!". Should the dance be canceled? NO, I do not think so.

One last thing I need to say. I really hope these ideas and thoughts will be considered and that people won't just look at this thread and never see it again. I really want Plaza to become a better website, that is why I spent 2 hours writing and thinking of stuff to say for this article."

Well, you did marvelous, my friend.

+1 overall.

Are you kidding me....?!
I was going to add to this thread and analyze all your ideas. You god damn chatters just have to close everything for no good reason. It pisses me the hell off.

Got permission from Gold to reopen. Also, about the arguments; keep them as civil as possible. Respect the opinions of others.

WHAT "arguments"? It's like Bellamy is in the forums again...

He's not a chat fag. He just doesn't seem to give himself enough credit. He did make good points weather he is someone who uses the chats or not.
