I get nosebleeds about once a day, always from the left side.

They always happens suddenly and they don't seem to have a strict pattern.

This has been going on for about five months now and my family has no idea why.

Does anybody know why?

It used to happen to me long ago. But it stopped.
It's either you pick your nose a lot or you stay under the sun for a long time when you're not used to it.

Your nose could just be really dry, or perhaps you damaged it when blowing your nose at some point? You can try moisturizing...if that doesn't help, you could see a doctor if it bothers you that much.

Though, if it's just once a day for a few minutes, I don't think you need to worry about it...whatever it is will heal eventually.

The same thing used to happen to me. I just toughed it out. Made blowing my nose hard though.

My little brother would get these all the time in dry weather/places with low humidity (air conditioning/heating causes that most of the time while inside). You should go to the doctor, but in the meantime, try using saline/nasal spray, a humidifier, or one of those steam pots for your nose (you could also take a hot bath or shower).
