No, this is most definitely a situation independent of CoD. It can be expressed in a simple equation as follows:

(CoD)Psychopath+Weapon+rage=Parents are shot

Now, if we take out the kid, our equation looks like this:

CoD+rage+Weapon=No one is shot

This is because guns don't kill people. People kill people. By the same token, without the weapon, the psychopath probably won't kill anyone. Now, if we remove CoD from this scenario, our equation looks like this:

Psychopath+Weapon+Rage=Parents are shot

Why? Because the psychopath's hostile tendencies are predisposed. That is, although they may be, to some extent, amplified by violence in videogames, they are not caused directly by them. I know this explanation seems bare bones, but I have to go to school now.

I'm not an expert in the field of psychology yet, but I had to use something, so I went with one of the first generic words that came to mind and seemed to fit the bill just right.

Its funny how CoD gets more reports of something bad than any other game and parents still buy them the game.

Reading about a war in a history book makes kids wanna start a war.

The kids that are violent and that threaten to kill others probably have issues, no one will just go on a killing spree just because they feel like it or because it was just fun in the game
