A competitive game is like a physical sport. Have you even see how people play Melee? They actually make more than 50 inputs within 10 seconds.

Even involving injuries in arms, hands, and fingers. Just like other sports, you do get injuries too.

And again, since competitive games requires a lot of thinking, planning, strategy, and problem solving within seconds.

People who actually play eSports dedicate their lives to it in the same way athletes do. No reason eSports can't be recognized.

The Oscars and similar competitions for awards exist. I don't see anyone saying movie making, writing, or music creating is a sport, tho, and even if/when they are considered to be a sport, I'll laugh it off. Just like I do when people say that playing any video games that have come out to this day is a 'sport.'

That's because sports are played face to face. As long as players are actually meeting up instead of playing online it can be a sport.

Any computer/android/any other console game isn't considered sports. Sports is always physical.
