I think it has great potential, and enough power to at least compete with the 720/PS4. Graphics can only get so much better, pretty soon the human eye just won't be able to see anymore detail. As of now though, no games are tapping the power at all. The Gamepad is interesting, but seriously, cut the gimmicks and just give us a solid gaming experience.

Well, gimmicks are just something that is meant to add appeal or be a selling point, they aren't always bad. I found the 3D on the 3DS to be a nice gimmick. But forced gimmicks are kind of annoying, the 3D is optional so it's not a problem, but these are.

It's annoying having to point the Wiimote just to select stuff on the menu.

The PSVita forces you to use touch controls on its menu and AR games.

See what I mean? Gimmicks are nice, but sometimes they really shove them down our throats and it gets annoying.
