I had recently bought the Adventure Time DVD from Target. I sat in the car, turning the disk over in my hands. I noticed a slight tear in the plastic covering, but thought nothing of it. People constantly did this. What did it matter?

We got home a late, so I had to go to bed. I lay in bed, excited about watching the DVD. I didn't exactly know HOW long I was waiting, but when I looked over, the clock said 1:14 AM. I felt a smile creep up on my lips. 'They won't care. As long as I don't wake them up, I should be fine.'

I carefully unwrapped the disc, trying not to make noise. I jumped at every foreign sound, waiting for about a minute before continuing with what I was doing. At that rate, it took me 5 minutes just to get the plastic off. I couldn't help but feel nervous that someone was going to jump out and yell "GOTCHA!"

I popped the disc into the old PS2 in my room. All the actual games were scratched or busted, so I usually just watched movies on it. It went to the main menu. I'd already watched all of those episodes, so I figured I'd just go to the bonus features. I saw something that caught my eye.

It said "Discarded episode" under the features. Curiosity got the best of me, and I selected it. The normal goofy theme song didn't play as usual. It skipped straight to the episode.

The camera panned to a very forlorn looking Jake, staring down into a coffin. The various denizens of Ooo were either crying or were just plain silent. The camera goes over the coffin to reveal Finn himself. He lay in the coffin. He was wearing his normal adventuring clothes, but his hat was on his chest. His hands were to his sides, his hands clenched into fists. It was at that point the animation looked like it was a storyboard cut. The camera stayed over the image of a very much dead Finn.

I was a bit saddened at this. I probably should've turned it off at that point, but I knew I had to see what happened. The animation returned to normal after about 10 seconds. A candy minister was at a nearby podium. "Would anyone care to say a few words?" It was then I noticed Marceline was missing from the crowd. Just as Jake stepped up to the podium, the camera went to a tree that was previously in the background. A very nervous looking Marceline stood next to the tree. She looked around, as if she was hiding from someone. She watched the funeral from a distance. She started talking to herself. "I can't believe I did that. I'm obviously the last person they'd want here..."

It then went back to the podium. Rather than actual speaking, it showed various characters talking at the podium in montage form. "Buried Alive" played in the background, which I found odd, seeing as how they never used liscensed music. As it ended, the camera went back to Marceline, who was in tears. "I have to fix this."

It skipped ahead a few hours. Marceline was carrying Finn's corpse towards her cave. It was dark out, so it was obviously after the funeral. She slowly scanned side to side. She stopped dead at every sound she heard. She brought Finn into her house. The audio got a bit fuzzy at this point. Marceline laid Finn's corpse on her kitchen table. She had a guilty look on her face. She started rummaging around her cabinets for something. "Dammit! Where'd it go...?"

I couldn't believe it. I had never heard them say that on the show. Because of the fuzzy audio, I flipped on the subtitles. Marceline had pulled a small vial from her pantry. She removed Finn's shirt and put a finger in the vial. She smeared coarse black liquid onto Finn's chest, forehead, and eyelids. She gave a hopeful look and went into the other room. I was fairly intrigued. As dark as the episode was, it was fairly interesting.

Finn's eyes shot open. He wordlessly rolled off of the table. Water could be heard running in the other room. Marceline came in room only wearing a towel. She let out a little squeak of embarrassment when she realized Finn was standing there. "Oh Glob! Finn, I-" She was cut off as Finn approached her and pulled her into a kiss. This went on for about 5 seconds until Finn let go of Marceline. She looked at him and blushed. "I had no idea..." Finn put a finger to her lip and laid her on her bed. "Sleep. You're obviously exhausted." Marceline closed her eyes and smiled. Finn turned and drew his sword. "Meanwhile, I have business to attend to..."

The picture on-screen twitched for a second and went back to normal. I backed up a frame and paused. The picture was the same, but it had minor alterations. Finn's sword was covered in blood. His hair was black instead of blonde. Marceline wasn't wearing a towel. Rather, her hair was covering her private areas. I unpaused and watched the episode. There was a black screen. This was the spot where a commercial break would've been. It went back to the episode.

Weird, huh? (:<

I tried to update, but my internet was a (insert catchy vulgar phrase here) and got rid of my work. Do not worry- part 2 comes tonight!

(Bump) Took me 20 minutes of digging to find this... but it was well worth the effort. Might as well introduce a (somewhat) cult classic to the new users of the forums.
