Kirby's Complaints: Video Games, Then and Now.
pikarceus (2012-08-21 23:35:39)Well, the game industry expanded from 200 million players last gen to 1 billion players today. But yes, this gen was all about big budget blockbuster games, all with the same shades of muddy brown graphics. Tons of developers went out of business because of this. You spend millions on making some crazy, graphics driven game, and it only sells 500k. Ouch.

Uggh. Games these days. Back then, families had "Game nights" With whatever system they had, like N64 Or Sega Saturn. Nowadays, Its all "SHUT UP MOM YOU USLESS LOSER, IM TRYING TO GET KILLS ON CALL OF DUTY!!!!1!!!1".
Who was "in" (Then): Back then, everyone Was on the video game scene. There was so many consoles back then that Nobody gave a crap about what you got, Not like, "OMG U HAVE A WII YOU N00B!1!!!1!".
(Now): Yes, I know, get with the times, but ugh. There's only 3 CONSOLES (Excluding PC) that you can buy. Yeah, there's the Ds and Psp, but only 3 console-selling Companies. Now, You are subject to ridicule if you even OWNED a Wii.
Commercials (Then): Commercials for the games back then were creative. They came up with catchy slogans like "Sega Does what Nintendon't." and "Now you're playing with power." They had awesome, and sometimes Awkward Commercials.
(Now): A lot has changed. Commercials are a LOT less creative. They have norefernces to the game itself by script, and its just bland.
Gaming Help (Then): Back then, Help for challenging games was everywhere. You had Nintendo power (Which Sadly, After 24 Years, Has Made it's FINAL issue.), Hell, even a Gaming HOTLINE was there if you needed any help with games. There were also "Game Genies", Games that Also helped you with your game. (Modern Day equivalent being Action Replay)
Now: All there is is gaming sites. Sure, there is still magazines for gaming, but do they help you with games? NO. There are BARELY any cheats for some of the lesser-known modern games.
What the games were like (Then): They were all various. All whimsical, like licking a magical Piece of crap that instead tasted like coffee. This was all famous/infamous.
(Now): Lemme put this in words you'll understand: BANG BOOM BANG BANG BOOM GRENADE OUT BOOOM CHITTY CHITTY BANG BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BANG HSSSSS TITTY-TITTY BANG BANG WOOSSSSHHHHH. *Explosion*
Overall, Games have devolved. They have been fun, whimsical 30-minute games. Now, They have been corrupt, 1046204730264926r038494-28491OMGHOWMANYHOURSISTIS3956E- Hour games. Games back then did not influence kids. Games now are #3 in the cause of Overweight kids in America.
Games have degenerated from fun, little activities when bored. Now, They have become addicting, attracting little kids and preventing them from growing from a normal childhood.
This sadly, Cannot be fixed. It can only degenerate until the next Game crash Happens.
in 5 words: Games Have lost their touch. Kirby out...
