Mametchi(2012-10-08 04:22:14)I was up on my computer late one night a couple years ago, my family had all gone to bed. My house is two floors, "the basement" which has a door to the garage and then the upstairs. The living room is directly above the garage, and when the door opens the whole house can hear it. The garage door we used to have wasn't electronic, you had to lift it up with force and pull it up manually.
That night, my dogs were both laying in the entrance area right where the door from the garage to the interior is and I was sitting at the computer, about 20 feet away with a clear view to the garage door and my dogs.
As I was going about my business, the door handle to the garage on the inside started twisting and turning. I could hear this from the computer and both my dogs stood up and started sniffing the crack between the door and the floor. It stopped for a second and my dogs stopped wagging their tails and listened. It did it again. I was thoroughly freaked out so I booked it past the garage door up the stairs and into my parents bedroom to wake my dad up and tell him what just happened.
He tiredly walked down the stairs and told me that he probably left the big garage door open at night and that somebody was just ing around trying to get into the house.
He unlocks the garage door and opens it to blackness. I'm standing far back in case somebody jumps out.
He turns on the light and we discovered that the big garage door was in fact closed. We looked under the car, behind every nook and cranny in our tiny garage and couldn't find anybody... or anything.
Needless to say I logged off the computer right after that and went straight to bed. Too many things happened in that basement after everybody went to bed... Never stayed up downstairs alone after that. That was the last straw.
Sorry, I'm not much of a story teller... this did actually happen, my dad didn't believe me or perhaps he attested it to my imagination. I thought I should too, but the fact that both my dogs stood up and stared at the door just after hearing the handle turn makes me believe that I was not imagining it...
