Overnight Nintendo of Japan had a Nintendo Direct about Mii verse and among other things about the system like the wii to wii u data transfer. Here are the steps to tranfer data from your old Wii to your new Wii U:


1 Insert an SD card into the Wii U

2 Run the Wii System Transfer application

3 When prompted, put that SD card into the Wii

4 Download and run a transfer application from the Wii Shop

5 Data will be moved to the SD card, at which point you switch it back to the Wii U

6 The data will be moved onto the Wii U and then deleted from the SD card.

Nope you have to do it the way it says your supposed to do it. If you don't have enough space get a bigger sd card

↑ A 2 GB SD card isn't alot of space.
