Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced that there will be an update for the Wii U that will make the OS faster. Basically cutting down in loading times. He didn't give an exact date but promised it to come before January 1st. Iwata also says he is sorry for this.

Personally I don't have a problem with the loading times. My only problem with the console is how it gets dirty so easily.

Nintendo not actually working on Wii U loading speed update Dec 20, 2012

Here's a bit of bad news. Remember talk of another Wii U update that was going to speed up loading time on the Wii U? Seems that was nothing more than a translation error. The update in question was pertaining to Dragon Quest X, not the Wii U itself.

Update: Not at this moment, its later on to fix loading times.
