Actually, I really like the more realistic take on the Mario Bros. movie, considering it was a LIVE-ACTION MOVIE, not a cartoon. As for troll reviews negative criticism, I find this rant almost as enjoyable as some of the one-star reviews on Amazon. At the time, Daisy was the newest princess, so it's understandable that they would want to use her as opposed to Pauline or Peach. And they never intended to base the film on Super Mario Land-- it seemed more like a film adaptation of all the Mario games and myths up to that point (Summer of '93, if I recall correctly), with a logical/sci-fi explanation for everything. The myths I'm talking about are that they were originally from Brooklyn, and have the last name 'Mario.' And don't worry, from what I read, if everything in production would've gone right, Danny DeVito would've played Mario, and Arnold Schwarzenegger would've played Koopa in a much darker script/movie. I still love the film, but personally would've loved to see this even darker, more epic take on the Mario Bros. movie! But, just my two cents, so, yeah... Happy Christmas!

The ending in the movie was actually not supposed to happen.

The bros were originally supposed to kick a Bob-omb into Koopa's throat and blow his ass off the Brooklyn Bridge.

Unfortunately, due to the amount of wasted money, "creative differences" (the writers and director were at each other's necks) and very close deadline made them shorten the ending to melting Koopa into prehistoric sludge. Oh well.

P.S, a Metroid movie actually doesn't sound like a bad idea...

The movie was great, it's just that it isn't based on the games much.

I actually never saw the movie. I read about it in Game Informer.

But on the subject of Metroid becoming a movie, I don't mean live action. I mean CGI or animation would be great. If someone made it live action, I'd personally hunt that moron down and smash his head in a refrigerator door.
