Dragnet (2013-01-14 02:10:42)The way they found how to run unsigned code is by exploiting a hole in its programming. How else would they be able to?
Anyway, creating Action Replay codes that can be used in a diverse Online Multiplayer mode is much tougher than creating other codes. By the time those are made, the online play will not be as popular, if not rendered obsolete by a new system. I really don't see what's the big deal.
I personally welcome this new development. If this goes well, a lot of opportunities will be presented. This will prepare these brilliant intellectuals to exploit scripting weaknesses in many other things, including new systems as they are created.
What I wanna know is where's the caveman
Superman (2013-01-14 05:04:45)^ I agree because it will only lead to Nintendo making more hack-proof systems meaning a better system.
They see me trollin', they hatin'
Superman (2013-01-14 05:06:25)And I pray to god that they break the region lock! Rub it in Nintendo's face.

SPCOxion (2013-01-14 06:25:17)Nintendo can still beick your 3DS. They have the rights, and the power.
Superman (2013-01-14 07:23:33)Well ya but they couldn't if you turned your wifi off

rayword45 (2013-01-20 04:10:53)@Robbieiscool: I died laughing at the prospect of that.
There are 67 games with hacking possibilites though (only 1 is confirmed)
@Proxion: No, they can't brick your 3DS via wi-fi. Regardless of what they said they have no legal ground to do such. The only way they can is if someone makes dire/idiotic mistakes while hacking.
@Rene321 Go play Goldeneye on the Wii. There are some annoying hackers, but it's not as commonplace as you'd think on a console with such a high hacking rate.

Some of you may have heard that the 3DS was "hacked".
No, the 3DS was not "hacked".
They've just barely scratched the surface.
However, what they've been able to do will pave the way for a lot more progress in cracking the code.
A small "hole", if you will, in the 3DS's programming has been exploited, and, using this exploitation, people may be able to delve further into the 3DS.
This link will tell you everything you wish to know.
However, just because it isn't fully "hacked" doesn't mean we can't get our hopes up.
Very soon, we may see some more basic exploits, mainly Homebrew and the like.
Later, perhaps some more advanced exploits, such as bypassing certain things like region lock.
Then, we may see emulators for other systems' games made for the 3DS using Homebrew, much like the Wii Homebrew Channel.
By at least next year, we could see a 3DS Emulator for basic PCs.
And perhaps, in between, we could see an Action Replay 3DS.
At the very least, this exploit will certainly help sites that detail unused coding in systems, such as the Cutting Room Floor.
All in all, this exploit hasn't done much yet, but in the long run, it certainly will.
