Many people calls themselves ''gamers''.

If you ONLY play Call of Duty, and no other game, you're not a gamer.

If you only play popular games, you're not a gamer.

If you only play ''games'' on iPod, or other phone and/or tablet, you're not a gamer.

If you only play games for a curtain console, you're not a gamer.

If you hate on games you've never played or ever seen, you're not a gamer. Pikarceus

If you only play emulators on PC, you're not a gamer.

So, the question is, what is a gamer? Well, a TRUE gamers plays EVERY SINGLE gaming console, yes, that includes Nintendo, phones/tablets, and PC. Another thing that makes a true gamer is that they don't hate and/or rant on a a game they'd never played.

One huge example is New Super Mario Bros. 2.

How do you know it's a rehash if you've never played it?
Because, it looks like it.

This makes you look like a Noob and a person who doesn't even know what they're saying.

A real gamer doesn't judge a game by it's visuals. It's ok to say it looks fun, boring, etc. but you cannot conclude it sucks or it's awesome, or it's a rehash. Once you've played the game, you can officially say it's sucks, or it's awesome, or it's a rehash.

A true gamer doesn't judge a game by it's graphics. So when you see a game with terrible graphics, that doesn't mean the game will suck. Sure graphics are important, but they don't have to be perfect. A true gamer judges a game by their gameplay, not graphics. Minecraft is a perfect example.

So, a real gamer does:
Not judge a game by it's visuals and/or graphics

Judges a game by it's gameplay

Cannot say a game sucks, awesome, etc. if they never played it.

Plays all kinds of games, not just the popular ones.

They play in all gaming device.

It's ok to have a favorite and a least favorite game, a favorite franchise, or a favorite character, or a favorite console.

So do what real gamers do if you want to be a gamer. Have fun, and happy gaming.

A gamer is anyone who plays video games. It doesn't matter what you play, or even how often you play.

Anyone can be a gamer.

Actually, I take that back. Playing Wii Sports once a month does not make you a gamer.

But you're crazy if you think people have enough time and money to play all systems. It really doesn't matter what system you play to be considered a gamer.

And I can't believe you're still ruffled by me calling NSMB 2 a rehash. If it bothers you enough to make a thread about it, that proves you're a Nintendo fanboy.

A gamer is somebody who spends multiple hours a day playing video games.

-CoD is a video game, thus making its fans gamers.
-Android/IoS games are games too.

And BTW guys, your guys' definitions of a "gamer" are a little off. A gamer is not one who spends numerous hours per day on a game, nor are they someone who plays every single type of game they can buy. A qoute-on-qoute "gamer" is someone who is devoted to gaming. In other words, someone who dedicates themselves to video games, casual or intense. Someone who creates a specified hobby of gaming. And anyone who says people like that have no life, are the ones with no life. Seriously, if you play games or not, find an interesting game and you WILL spend multiple hours on it. Criticise me, I don't care. You know I'm right.

My brother is 19 years old, turning 20 in September. I don't think he's ever had a girlfriend. He stays in his room all day doing random things on his laptop and iPhone, 3DS, N64, WiiU, other consoles/handhelds.

Does he count as a gamer?
