I've had MH for three days now, and here's what my impressions of the game are so far, hopefully it'll help those of you who are on the fence about getting it.

-Graphics are really good, especially on the Monsters, areas are pretty wide open, some of the textures like grass are blurry, but are the other detail makes up for it

-Game runs very smooth, no lag when fighting monsters (60fps? I'm not sure)

-3D is great during gameplay, not so great on the menus and loading screens

-The visuals are essential to gameplay (Watch for heavy breathing, drooling, erratic movement, or dragging of the feet=Monster is getting weak)

-Game demands on a lot of patience, if you just mash X like a fool you will get killed. Before the hunt you better make sure you're stocked up on all the items you need and that you're weapon is good or you'll be sorry

-Game is hard but not chuck your 3DS at the wall hard

-3DS version doesn't have online but there is DLC, and it's free

-Customization is insane, you can edit the touchscreen to exactly how you want it, when you design your character there are an insane amount of options

-One problem is that saving takes forever (But I think this may happen only if you download it)

Game doesn't need circle pad pro, as you can use target cam (tap L) to make the camera swing towards the large monsters, plus there is a customizable virtual D-pad on the bottom screen that acts as a 2nd stick

i got both demos as well. imo the 3ds demo was better (even thought it was the same demo) it had good graphics for a 3ds game. wii u version i disliked

Just letting you all know, the demo is NOTHING like the full game, as it just throws you off the deep end.

The full game does a pretty good job of teaching you the controls and everything else.

Your first few quests are really simple, you'll do thinks like gather mushrooms and kill smaller monsters.

You won't be slaying large monsters for a few hours.

An insane amount of time. I believe there are 200+ quests, were looking at potentially hundreds of hours.

Each quest has a 50 minute timer, if it runs out, you fail.

Other way to fail is to die three times.

So a hard quest could take several hours to beat.

A course the multiplayer is robust too, I'd round up some friends and get them to buy it.

But if online is a must for you, get the Wii U version. @Ron

Dang it, I dying to get this game and reading this just made me want it even more! Oh and Ron I believe it has at most about 500+ hours of quests. Oh and Pikarceus what class do you recommend (Like long sword and Dual blades and what not)?

I am using a katakana, it packs punch and doesn't dull easily. I just upgraded it to a more powerful weapon.

I think I'll try out some projectile weapons, you can do a ton with those.

Of course 3DS version is $20 bucks cheaper.


Anyway, really hope it sells well, because then Capcom will hopefully localize Monster Hunter 4, which would be incredible.

^ The graphics are edgy(probably because they take from fast-motion gameplay), but the multiplayer, new weps, monsters, etc. are amazing. I'm just glad I may get a chance to kill a Tigrex.
