S'up guys. Welcome to Kirby's game time, where I review 3rd party old/new school games on any system, any version. Here are my ratings before I start:

Graphics: Does it actually look good for its era? Does it look like crap got splattered all over the screen?

Gameplay: Pretty simple enough. Can't have a game without having interaction.

Controls: Is it perfect? Is it easy? Or is it stiff, and heavy?

Story: Is it a story that really entertains and motivates you to finish the game? Or is it an unconnected story, which makes you care less if the characters die?

Music: Is it masterpiece that deserves to be on iTunes? Or is it literally sound like a guy taking a crap?

Appeal: This is not going to be scored on, just my recommendation.

Those are the 5 things I review them on. Now, on to the game. Guys, Enjoy.

Ib, made by kouri, an indie developer, is an rpg maker game released in 2012. Now, don't be fooled if the RPG genre automatically makes you think "Furry alert, I'm out", don't worry. There isn't any refrences to that.

The Title screen.

Graphics show
This is puposely designed to be an 8-bit game, although it has mixes with "New"-ish landscapes, giving a good horror mix-up between the 2. Generally, It's very creative at times.

18/20

Controls show
The controls are pretty simple enough, arrow keys to move, and other controls. Nothing too special. One thing thats weird, though, is that the main character, Ib (Eeb- Like Eve, with no v and pronounced b.) moves extremely fast for her age, (9). Although it helps at some points, a simple run would've been better.

17/20

Music show
The music, is quite good in this game, although it's designed with 8-bit sprites. It helps fuel the moment when horror moments happen.

19/20

In case you didn't know, this is one screenshot of the game, with just 8-bit moments.

The Gameplay show
The point of view is within Ib, so blocking out complex words, although with Garry (Another Protagonist, intentional extra R.), you can see all of those words blocked with "???". Although you see what it means by filling in the blank. There ARE jumpscares at sometimes, which personally, I think is the cheapest form of horror, but there are certain times where horror builds until you eventually get creeped a bit from the story. It is mostly a puzzle-solving game, like the Zelda series. The HP, and the ways of regaining HP are clever.

17/20 Because of Jumpscares.

The Story show
The story, is about Ib travelling to an art gallery, although while looking at an exhibit, something goes awry, and its up to her (and Later Garry) to escape. The game has multiple endings, which, depending on the ending, could be the worst/best for you. Without spoiling too much, the story is good.

19/20

Appeal show
Basically, anybody who doesn't get that scared easily can play it.

Lulzy moments show

Ib, in a room, gets to read a book that she is "too young to read".

In a part of the game, a look-alike Ib is found hanging upside down with one leg, and skirt upside down, although it does not show her "Family Jewels" (This does not provoke Edgee in a single way.)

There is a part in the game (sometimes does/doesn't) that crashes when you choose to read a book.

Ib can actually Slap Garry in one part of the game multiple times.

Overall Score: 90

The game is pretty good for a horror game. I would recommend playing it. The fun thing is? There are 7 more "mainstream" games like this, although with a different rpg editor.

This game needs winRAR to extract the files to play the game, and you need to run rtpmaker.exe to setup the game if you're playing it for the first time, although its pretty simple. Just click and follow what it says. If you have problems, try to use "Ib Manual.txt". Enjoy!
