"I think it's almost done."
"Excellent. Should we test it out?"
"Sure, just let me wire this one last part up... Alright. Let's head to the observation room."
Two minutes later...
"Three."
"Two."
"One."
PORTAL OPENED.
"Doing well so far. Let's try to put a test dummy through it."
RETRIEVING TEST DUMMY...
TEST DUMMY RETRIEVED.
PUSHING TEST DUMMY INTO PORTAL...
FATAL ERROR. SHUTTING DOWN ELECTRICITY.
"That was... odd."
"Why is the portal still open?"
BZZZZZZT...
HELLO.
I AM RELIC.
WE HAVE RETRIEVED A TREAT FROM YOUR DIMENSION.
IF YOU ARE HEARING THIS, PREPARE FOR WAR.
"What?! Robinson, close the portal!"
"It won't work! The power is out!"
Hello. This is Timothy Ore, and the date is 3/12/3056. Not too long ago, my father Dennis Ore and his partner Kenneth Robinson opened a portal to who-knows-where and who-knows-what happened. All we know right now is that there was a fatal explosion at his facility, killing around 500 men, and brutally wounding thousands more.
There are a dozen detectives and other authorized personnel investigating the cause. The few survivors who haven't lost their memory and can still talk say that there was a fatal error. Odd messages were being announced soon after, and then there was a huge explosion. Most of the survivors think the explosion came from the main testing room (where my father was at the time). There was no question that the main testing room was the place of the explosion-- Mainly because there was a fifty-foot crater in its original spot.
The only thing found that survived the blast was the portal frame.
The investigators say my father and Kenneth were dead. Their remains were nowhere to be found, and based off the fact they were near the explosion, they seemed to be right.
But I don't believe it. Not one damn word.
They say I'm crazy... But I'm gonna find them. Even if it means opening up that portal, and facing whatever made that bomb.

Hey. This is my first story I've written in a -long- time. Constructive criticism is appreciated, as it always will be.
