The Live Stream
ultraguy4 (2013-05-21 22:42:50)While the video loaded, I looked at the description for the video. It was a four way live stream between... holy crap. The stream was between four of my favorite YouTubers! There was, of course, Pewdie, followed by SomeOrdinaryGamers, Markiplier, and Tobuscus. It appeared they were playing a multiplayer game of GTA IV. I looked back at the screen. The video still hadn't loaded yet. Not in the mood to just stare at a loading screen, I went downstairs to get a drink.
I walked downstairs to an empty kitchen. There was a note on the fridge from my mom.
"Alec-
I'm going to be over at Jerry's tonight. I might not get home until around tomorrow morning. Sarah is over at her friend's house, so you get the house to yourself tonight. Call if you need anything, and don't do anything stupid.
-Mom."
I smirked and stuck the note back on the fridge. I reached in and grabbed a Red Bull. I then went up to the pantry and grabbed a bag of Spicy Buffalo Ranch Doritos. I headed back up to my room, eager to watch the video.
I plopped down in my chair to see a loading screen. I facepalmed. Maybe I can just watch it tomorrow. I was about to click out when the video popped up. Pewdie and Someordinarygamers (Mutahar to those who know who he is) were at the main menu of GTA IV. They appeared to just be having a conversation as if they weren't in the middle of a live stream. The conversation went something like this.
SOG: "So... you read creepypasta?"
Pewdie: "Not really. I don't really have much time to read."
SOG: "You really should. You play a lot of horror games. I think you'd like it."
It was then Mutahar and Pewdie finally acknowledged the audience, as if they just realized they were streaming.
Pewdie: "Oh! Uh- How's it going, bros? My name is PeeewwwDiiePie! I'm here with this lovely man and a couple others. They'll be here soon."
SOG: "Uh.. yeah. Hey guys and gals, it's me Mutahar, and this is Some Ordinary Gamers here with Pewdie and-"
It was at that point Toby butted into the video, doing his signature intro.
Toby: "Hello once again, audience!"
SOG: "I was in the middle of something..."
I did a little throat laugh at Mutahar's deadpanning as he said that. Then Markiplier threw his two cents into the ring.
Mark: "Hello everybody! My name is Markiplier and welcome to-"
Pewdie: "Everyone's here! Let's get started!"

ultraguy4 (2013-05-21 23:06:11)I cracked my Red Bull open and took a swig, about to watch the madness that was to ensue. There was a bit of quarreling over introductions for a minute, but it soon subsided as Pewdie started up the game. Skipping past story and such, the gang went about, causing mayhem in Liberty City.
Pewdie: "This is a pretty nice sports car. I shall name you Winona!"
SOG: "Hey, that's a pretty nice car. Shotgun!"
Mark: "Who decided you got to be shotgun? I actually have a shotgun."
Toby: "You trying to drive off without me?"
Mark: "Yes. Now I get shotgun!"
SOG: "That's not how it works. I called it, I get it."
Mark: "Fine. But if your head explodes when you're leaning out the window, I will laugh!"
SOG: "...How does that work?"
During the stream, I noticed something odd. There was a sound in the background. It was slight, barely audible at first. I initially thought it was just feedback from my speakers. However, the further into the stream I got, the louder it became. Not too much louder, mind you, but just audible enough to make out the sound.
It sounded awfully like the bell chiming at the beginning of Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare." It was just the first couple notes on a loop. It seems the others noticed, too.
Pewdie: "Hold on. You guys hear that?"
They all paused for a moment, trying to pinpoint the noise.
SOG: "No... I don't hear anything."
Mark: "Nothing on my end."
Toby: "Nothing here."
Pewdie: "I swear it sounds like a bell chiming or something. You sure you don't hear it?"
All except Pewdie: "Yeah..."
This was rather strange. Then, a thought occured. Aaron might get a kick out of this. I pulled up my Skype to find Aaron was on. I pulled up a chat.
"Hey man."
"Hey Alec."
"You'll never believe what I found."
"What?"
"A live stream between Pewdie, SOG, Markiplier, and Tobuscus."
"No way."
"Yeah. Here's the URL."
I PM'd him the URL, only to get an angry response back.
"This doesn't even lead to YouTube. This is a directory to live torture sites. What kind of joke is this?"
"What?"
"Here, I'll show you."
He sent me a screen cap of where the URL took him. Sure enough, it was just what he described. I was dumbfounded. He disconnected me, leaving me to watch the video by myself.

ultraguy4 (2013-06-10 22:51:27)I clicked back into the video, perplexed. It didn't seem like I missed too much. They were all driving the car over a bridge, trying to escape from the police.
Pewdie: "C'mon, Winona! We can escape!"
SOG: "I don't think that was the best way to try and escape..."
Mark: "AGH! YOU SUCK AT DRIVING!! MOVE FASTER!!"
Toby: "I'm out of here!"
Toby dives out of the car, not wanting to get caught by the police. However, as his character gets up, he's hit by a semi, killing him instantly.
Toby: "GOD DANGIT! Ok... I need a break."
Mark: "Rage quitting, are we? SOME of us are a bit better than that, hmm?"
Toby was about to give a response when he paused.
Toby: "Hang on, I hear someone knocking. I'll be back later."
He then cut off the call. In the split second the call disconnected, I could've sworn I heard a noise of some sort. It was low, growling and raspy. Something was going on, but I wasn't sure what.

We've all had an encounter with the creepy or unexplained in some way or form. Some people's experiences are more overt than others. Whether it be your reflection doesn't quite match up with your movements, shadows that taunt you in the corners of the room, or, surprise, surprise, that fleeting moment you could've sworn you saw something creepy out of the corner of your eye. Here's an experience of mine. Predictably enough, my story starts with the Internet.
It was a warm, calm Friday evening. The sun was setting over the horizon, and I was in my room. Now, since I had recently went on summer break, I had a lot of free time on my hands. So, as many 13 year olds were doing, I was just screwing around on YouTube, scrolling through YouTube poop to see if there were any half decent ones I hadn't already seen. Not finding anything of interest, I simply decided to check my subscriptions.
I scrolled through the list, hoping to find something new. No such luck. With an irritated sigh, I clicked back on my Skype tab to see if any of my friends were online. Luckily, I had a friend online, SquiddyTeutefir. I pulled up my headset and picked up his call. (For the sake of privacy, I'm just going to use aliases. I'm speaking first.)
"Hey Aaron."
"Hey Alec."
"How are you?"
"Good. And you?"
"Trying to find something good to watch on YouTube, with no success."
"Keep trying. I'll catch you later. My mom wants me to get dinner. See ya in a few."
He disconnected, leaving me to solve my own boredom problem. I clicked back to YouTube, rechecking my subscriptions. I thumbed through, trying to see if there was anything I could possibly re-watch. Then, all the way at the bottom of my PewDiePie playlist, a found a new video.
While I was ecstatic, I did find it rather strange. Weren't new videos supposed to be at the top of the list? It was a minor detail, something that could've been easily overlooked, but it bothered me. I simply clicked on the video, not wnting to pursue it further. Still, there was that nagging feeling that it was something a bit more than a glitch.
