In Assassin's Creed II, towards the end there's a part where you have to kill a guy on a ship surrounded by a dozen guards. If he or the guards see you, you fail.

I failed so many times, and for so many stupid reasons. One time I failed because a wall was in the way of my pistol when I tried to shoot a guard who was about to see me.

Another time I failed because one guard saw me pull another guard overboard.

I literally kissed the ground when I finally killed the guy.
