According to a rumor from a Neogaf member, that he received info that Nintendo is planning to discontinue the White 8gb model(obviously because it wasn't selling as good as the 32gb Black model). Not much else was said.

UPDATE: Gamestop has confirmed that Nintendo is recalling the 8gb Wii U basic model the week after E3

Also heres a statement released by Nintendo:

“There is a current misperception about Wii U hardware. To clarify: Nintendo is working with its retail partners to simply rebalance the stock of the White 8GB and the Black 32GB Wii U models in the market. Consumers looking for either model will continue to find them available.”

Meh. I've always wanted a 32 GB.

In Japan, Nintendo will release a white 32 GB Deluxe model. And rumours about other colors as well, like red, blue, etc.

Nintendo might announce a new Wii U model in E3.

It makes sense if you gad a choice between 8GB or 32GB any smart person would choose the 32GB.
