I think it will be just like that Super Smash Flash 2 fangame, pressing Down + Special attack button to switch modes, then press special attack to use the current mode attack.

I just think the projectile based moves are used with B, and melee moves will be used by directionall A button presses.

I think ( For Classic Controler ) would be Left Stick Down+B and Right/Left/Up/Down on the Right Stick and there's the B.

Maybe they're all part of his special and regular move set. The blades would be his side special. Leafs his down special(ground) and that projectile(air). The fire looked like squirtles down smash in actual game play.
