[THIS THREAD IS STILL IN PROGRESS. And, I did not know there was already a User guide, but this guide is ONLY about being a good user, so this is different from Shane's. btw, if you want some More help, read Shane's thread. It's the one that says "Ultimate new User Guide" at the top of the yellow part]
If you are a pretty old user, you should not be reading this.
This is really only for the "New Registered" users.
First thing,
Being Kind
The first thing to a User guide probably will always be being kind. Whenever someone addresses you, do not answer in a ride way; answer in a nice way. This is one of the keys to being an awesome user. And you don't always have to answer kind; you can answer funny, but NOT rude. This can also earn you respects and a good title.
Know the Controls
Know the controls and everything on this site. Doing this, you won't be called a noob. Oh, and DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS IN CHATROOMS! All people do when new registered do this is ignore. You can go to the Helpdesk for help around here [ill link Helpdesk later]
Be Helpful
Once you know the controls and everything here, aim to be helpful towards the other new Users. Making helpful threads in the forums [you are in the forums already and reading a thread] is something you can do, but there are already a lot of helpful stuff. If you already know or see a thread that's already been made, do not make one based on that thread, or reword it, because the forums mods. Will just close it, meaning they will make the thread useless and uncommentable. If you are in a chatroom and a user asks a question about the site, which I told you NOT to do, do not ignore them; just go ahead and help them. It won't hurt to help, to answer a simple question.
What if I see someone bullying or not following the rules?
If they are not following the rules, let them keep breaking it. Eventually, he/she will get perma'd [banned forever]. If you see bullying taking place, call a mod immediately to the scene, or just screenshot, then send it to a Mod. [list of mods are in matttttt's thread] this can also earn a perma.
Do NOT Mini-Mod
If you don't know what mini modding is, it's telling a mod on every single thing that a person done wrong. This can give you a load of disrespects, and you won't earn a good title. The rules may not say no mini modding, but this is NOT allowed. One of the rules don't specifically say no mini modding, but does say, DO NOT WISH OUTLOUD THAT YOU WERE A MOD. IF YOU DID NOT READ THIS RULE, YOU MAY GET BANNED INSTANTLY [i dumbed the rule down for you] so, just please stay away from mini-modding.
How Do I Become a Moderator/Administrator?
Well, you have a VERY low chance of becoming a admin. But you have a higher chance if becoming a moderator, but chances are still really low. The only ways you can become a mod is to have a lot of respect, make helpful threads, be a fun and cool user, and NEVER BEG TO BE A MOD! Begging will almost completely lose your chances if becoming a mod. [for example: from 35% to 2%!] there are actually quite a bit of mod jobs around this site. You can read some threads talking about moderators.
Know People
You cant just always wonder around and not know anybody, especially the famous users. Don't introduce yourself like how you would introduce yourself personally, but start a conversation, a good conversation, or if a conversation has already been starting with that person, kinda slip in to the conversation. If you talk to a lot of people, that's good, so you won't be called a noob all the time. Matttttt, AlphaTrion, Gold, and other mods are people who start cool conversations and are cool to talk to. [those might not be their names anymore because of 3dsplaza's big name change day, when a User named SL [SomeLuigi] changed anybody's names to what they wanted it to] again, list of moderators in matttttt's thread.
DONT ASK FOR POINTS!
If you know everything on this site, you already know about points. NEVER ASK FOR POINTS! You can get ignored so easily when you ask this question. This can also get you banned, as said in the rules. If you want more points, someone will either give you points, or you can milk the cow every hour, or you can talk a lot in chatrooms, or you can do ALL 3, but technically the last 2. The 1st one really doesn't count. If you see people with a lot of points, those are the 2 things they do. just please never ask for points.
Grammer
Ok, everyone has been nagging me to talk about grammer. Ok, do not talk without making any sense in your sentences. This could be one reason why you get ignored- CAUSE THEY CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOU! Talk with a least some sense in your words please.
Enjoy This Site
Once you know everything on this site, GOOD! Then just relax, and enjoy this site. GRAB A Pixel Stick AND A Cup of Juice AND HAVE FUN!
FORUM HELP
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ALL ABOUT THE 3DS PLAZA FORUM, GO TO "HELP" UNDER "This Plaza" and look in the yellow part of the page and check out those threads! Those Users worked really hard on making those threads so you guys can enjoy 3dsplaza to the fullest!
