Yeah, stay onto fighting Sub species. It has a 1% higher chance of dropping/carving/giving it to you in the rewards.

Standard Rathian: 2% Drop rate
Pink Rathian: 3% Drop Rate
Gold Rathian: 4% Drop Rate
