He had to find something to fire up the portal so he can go thru.
He had the portal in his backyard.

The parents of Steve finished building the house, Steve and his parents now have a house to live in.
Sunset was falling, Steve had dinner with his parents and they planned how will their lives be in the house.
Steve stood up thank her mom for the dinner, Steve walk to the porch and gloomed to the peaceful night sky with a super moon.
A breeze of air blew to the face of Steve and he was thinking how his life be.
Then he saw buildings with some lights coming from the windows, Then he saw how children we're playing outside during the night time.
He thanked how their is no such things as monsters in the night. And then went to his backyard and said finishing the portal is the only way out if the planet ever went to a chaos
Glooming at his portal, said he'll activate it tomorrow and walked to his room and went to sleep.
He went to the grocery store and wondering what's in the other side of that portal.
He searched online what is Obsidian, and looked that Scientest we're traveling to the portal and we're stuck in the other world that people that didn't knew.
He gulped while reading it, He closed his laptop and went to sleep.

Steve woke up, Looking at the morning sky, and birds chirping outside. He went downstairs and had breakfast with his mom and dad went to work not knowing it will be has last time seeing him.
His mom gave him a big hug and kiss in his forhead and she said '' I hope you come back from that portal, Oh and bring me a block'' and Steve walked to his backyard and a activated the portal.
While a smuggler was sneeking behind Steve and took out a pistol and hit Steve in the head, Steve stood up and fought the smuggler and both shot a bullet to the air.
Smuggler hit Steve face and Steve's mouth was bleeding and Steve stood up and the smuggler kicked Steve sending him flying straight to the portal. In slow motion, Steve saw the smuggler turning around and shot a child.
Steve with a sad face teleported and landed on The Neather. Coughing out blood and stood his head up saw lava and lava and lava. The portal turned to dust and knew the portal was destroy. Then turned around and saw Zombie Pigs he was scared of but the zombie pigs didn't do nothing.
Walking slowly saw how a new place he never saw and tought he was in hell. Then he saw a bridge. he ran to the bridge and he heard a soft man screaming voice and ran faster and saw a man with a suit of a scientest.
Scientest: Please help young man. Steve: What can i help you in? Scientest:-with a soft voice- Obsidian, I need Obsidian. Steve in his head came that Obsidian is what he needed to teleport to his world.
Both the scientest walked and walked talking how their life were.
-Meanwhile in the real world-
Herobrine declared war on Notch and both had big battles and battles while in the world was raining endlessly. the people we're fustrated of endless raining.
Notch was defeated and lost the war.
Herobrine said in order to keep Notch world, He must let Monsters crawl in the nights of the world.
Notch said no and Herobrine with a sword pointing Notch's neck.
Herobrine: If you don't let me have my choice since you lost the war. I'll destroy the world and humanity and kill you.

Humans saw the Zombies and ran for they're lifes and Zombies captured them and ate them.

The Skeletons shooted arrows at people that where hiding underwater and tall places.
Soon the last human who was the President of the United States was teleported to The End.
The species called Villagers survived the chaos but they weren't human and the animals survive. An during day time. The earth stood quiet with windy sky...everything was normal except during night time and humanity is gone so earth is quiet. Like if it was Chernobyl.
Notch was locked in a prison with the Ender Dragon
-Meanwhile in the Neather-
Steve and the scientest stopped and saw a Ghast. The ghast was trowing fire balls and one of the fireballs shot the injured scientest.
Steve ran to the scientest and the scientest said: Use this to defeat the Ghast: Showing steve a arrow.
Steve grabbed the arrow and shot three times to the ghast and died.
Scientest: Im lucky to bring myself a bucket of water.
Steve: Wait with the bucket of water and lava will make Obsidian.
Scientest: YES! Great idea.
Both saw a stream of lava andSteve pour water in the lava and the lava transformed to Obsidian.
Steve: Yes, that's enough Obsidian to teleport to the real world.
Both didn't knew 80 years have past in the real world. The scientest knew what happened to the world.
Both finished the portal and the light up the portal but the scientest was dying.
The Scientest: My Boy, i have done what i needed to be done.
Steve: What are you saying?
Scientest: I'm going to tell you the truth about the world you once knew.
Steve: What?
Scientest: Herobrine and notch declared war and notch was defeated and herobrine forced notch to put monsters the world and soon humanity was destroy.
Scientest: You're our only hope and recreating humanity and the world a new.
Scientest: -Taking his last breath and died.-
Steve: Wait! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Steve:-Burst to tears-
-Steve burried the scientest in the soul sand-
Steve walked straight to the portal and planned to destroy it once he arrives to the world
-Steve teleported to the world and landed to world and looking at the blue sky and turned around and destroyed the portal-
And so Minecraft Begins.

Fun fact:
Minecraft was purposely published unfinished. So if Mojang continued developing it, the graphics could dramatically improve.
