The year is 2057. Lots of things have happened during the year it is now, to 2057, in the way future. No one was sure how the future would be, but it turned out to be, well... Pretty interesting. This is a story about just that. And in particular, space travel. I always wanted to be an astronaut, but I pretty much knew it's most likely impossible for that to happen.

I turned out to be wrong. In the year 2054, the first, one of a kind, futuristic type spacecraft was made. The kind you see in Sci-Fi movies. I knew I couldn't miss the opportunity after I heard the news, "Astronauts needed". You could probably never think this ever happned, but it did. It is the in the future, after all.

I've actually, believe it or not, had a few special astronaut trainings. After months of even more special training, my dreams finally came true. Our first space mission, asinged, by NASA, was to land on Mars, and explore it, and also be the first person, or one of the people to actually walk on Mars.

I would make history. It take about 7 months to reach Mars, but it would be worth every second. The ship's name is The F.S.T. 5000. It standed for Futuristic Space Team. When the time finally came for our journey, in early 2057, that exact moment made history itself.

Out of all the 7 crew members total, I was the computer technician. I was very good in that type of stuff too, so it worked out perfectly, for me. There was 6 other people onboard the ship at the time. They were, Ryan Duplets, Bob Shinards, Johnathan Gates, Michal Lenard, John Freker, and the captain, Paul Shinker.

As you could possibly imagine, robots, to do certain human- impossible tasks were on the ship, also. These robots were know as FSRs, which standed for Futuristic Space Robots. They could manage extreme temperatures, multi- task, and lots of other neat and helpful things.

Everyone was in crowds across the river that was separating the launch area, between the thousands of spectators. We got into position that was needed for launch. The moment of truth finally came. "Is everyone ready for lift off?" came a voice from some speakers somwhere. "Yes Sir." we all said. "Ok... Then prepare for lift off... In 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...

I suddenly heard the sound of us lifting off the ground. We waited about 10 minutes, with the ship still in the sky, almost ready to pass through earth itself. We all then suddenly felt a burst of energy. I looked out the window. We were in outer space!

"Congratulations everyone!" Paul said. "Now we begin our long journey to Mars!"
