I originally did this as a writing project for school, and decided to put it on here. Here it goes:

It all started out on a regular, ordinary day like it usually does. But the only thing that was different about today was that my mom wasn’t in the kitchen, cooking breakfast, like she usually does each and every morning. I decided to wait a little bit for my mom to come back from where ever she was, to cook breakfast for me. She usually does that anyways. Plus, I was just too plain tired. I would probably spill something or something like that also, because of me being too tired.

After a few minutes of waiting for my mom to come back from where ever she was, I had a really weird sudden thought of where she could have gotten off to. The night before, I think she said something about going off to the market in the morning to get a few things I was right, because just then, she came right through the door. “Where were you mom?” I asked pretty sure that she going to say what I thought she was going to say. “I went to the market to get a few things.” She said with a type of expression that I’ve never seen before.

I’m guessing she was dumbfounded that I didn’t know she was, or at least for sure. I bet she thought that she told me that she went to the market, but she really didn’t. I really didn’t want to ask any questions about it, because she was going to get pretty aggravated. And that wasn’t going to be pretty sight. Because I’ve done it before, not meaning to of course, and I really don’t want to go through all the consequences. I’d hate that to happen to me again.

Let me get a brief introduction in about whom I am, and everything else of the sort. My name is Connor and I’m 13 years old. I live in the year 1543, with my mom, in the kingdom of Naruku. I don’t get to see very much of my dad since he went on a faraway mission for the kingdom. My lifelong ambition is to become a wizard, and serve for the kingdom. Few people get to have the honor of being a wizard and serve for the kingdom of Naruku. And I won’t to be one of them.

After a good and long breakfast, my mom told me about something that she saw on her way to the market this morning. “Hey Connor?” My mom said. “I’m sorry for not telling you this earlier, but I saw something you might be interested in. Here, come with me.” I was very excited about this because nothing like this has ever happened before, or at least for a long time it hasn’t. I walked with my mom down near the market where she’d been before. Then, something caught my eye.

I saw a flyer on one of the stone walls of a nearby building. The tittle said: “Future Wizard School of Naruku”. “Hmmm…” I thought as I read on carefully. “Wow… Maybe I should get enrolled here.” I said to my mom, hoping she would say yes. I fell instantly hooked with the idea of all of this, although I’m really not sure about my mom with all of this. We later, finally made an agreement on all of this. “It’s going to coast probably a lot of money for all of this. So, what I was thinking is that we find out how much it cost for you to get enrolled here, and however much it costs, you’ll have to owe it to me. Also, for every month you don’t pay me it back, you will owe me 20 GP.” She finally got saying.

She took an advantage of me by knowing that I’ve pretty much never paid her back any amount of GP before, and made that part of the agreement. But I know for sure, I’d do it this time. If you hadn’t already figured this out, “GP” is the type of currency that we all use in the kingdom of Naruku. The FWSN, which obviously stands for Future Wizard School of Naruku, is located about a few miles East of where we live. We contacted the professor, and finally, got myself enrolled. It costed about 5 thousand GP to enroll me, and then I realized, I honestly don’t know how to pay that all back. But I’ll eventually come with something.

The night before I was going to leave for FWSN, I got all my belongings ready, and, well, I could barely get any sleep that night, as you could possibly imagine. My mom finally woke me up, and as soon as she did, I literally jumped out of bed and ran outside. After a little breakfast, me and my mom started our 2 mile walk to the school. I believe the flyer said something about it being on top of the Old Misty Hills, which is supposedly haunted. It makes the adventure of becoming a wizard more adventurous. The FWSN also is located in castle of once what used to be the site of many sightings of many ghosts, and what not.

When we got there, some man stepped out of a very large door. The man was like a tree, he was so tall. He greeted me, as I stepped inside, and said bye to my mom. He showed me to my room, where I was going stay, and helped me get set up. I was so exhausted, that I passed out the second that my back hit the bed. I suddenly woke up to me being very sweaty and hot. Suddenly, it seemed as if some sort of door on the floor opened up, and a shadowy figure stepped out and ran out the window. It almost scared me to death. A glowing light sparkled about where the door opened up on the floor. I crept out of bed and went to where the door was. I opened the door, and then I saw another figure down below.

I finally made out the person who it was. It was someone who I knew from my wizard classes, casting a dark spell on something shiny. It almost looked something like an orb. She was saying some sort of magical spell to it. I think I remember that she was saying some forbidden wizard spells, or something, because I remember the professor saying that a few ones, were forbidden, and if were to say them, you’d get expelled. This time, she’d gone too far.
