The game finally got a demo, so it's my chance to test the game out. Here's what I think:

When you start the game, you'll see a cutscene with terrible video quality, but it had a good story line. Overall, it was lazy, a port straight from the Wii U version.

Gameplay is confusing at first. The controls are awkward, but it's very easy to handle. Graphics are pretty amazing for a handheld, the levels are pretty simple, obviously for beginners for awkward controls. Then you encounter some tutorial tips teaching you it's awkward controls. Sonic can run on walls, and even double jump! Overall, Ok gameplay.

The music is Ok, not that awesome music, but it cool. Sound effects are cool. Some are retro cool, and pretty a lot new sound effects. Overall, Ok sound and music.

Overall, Sonic Lost World looks pretty good.

I honestly don't know why it has a terrible score. They need to spend more time on this game.

From the demo, we can infer that once again, there'll be too many cutscenes (made worse on 3DS with poorly-rendered video cut straight from the WiiU version, as usual) and dialogue breaks, and not enough gameplay.

Another nagging Sonic feature that returns? Too much handholding. An entire level dedicated to a tutorial, and hints everywhere you look. You get 15 lives in the demo. When Game Overs have very little penalty, having that many lives is ridiculous. The support items just make it worse, and collecting materials like in Sonic Rush Adventure just to make them really isn't necessary.

The story isn't much different from the previous Sonic games. At least they've made the game less centered on Eggman. However, it's still the same formula. You decide whether or not that's a good thing.

But what's even worse is the one thing they got rid of is the Boost. That was one of the GOOD things about the new games.

The WiiU version certainly isn't much better. It really is just Sonic Colors 2 (made even more apparent with the unnecessary return of Color Powers). However, the handheld version feels more like Sonic Rush 5, as Sonic's oft-too-generic spin on handhelds hasn't been as grand as his oh-so-triumphant console revival.

It's a matter of opinion. But like Nint10dude789 said, the scenes do have terrible quality and I don't enjoy it much.
