I've recently gotten Metroid: Other M and I really enjoyed playing it. It might be a bit too linier than what I would like from a Metroid game but, oh well.

What's your opinion about Metroid? Also what is your favorite and least entry in the series?

Ive only played and beaten 4 games(Metroid, 2, Prime, Other M) so, my favorite would have to be Metroid Prime and my least favorite is Metroid 2. I don't hate it I just like it the least.

Super Metroid was by far the best, in my thoughts. I actually didn't like Other M much, it would be near the bottom of my list. Even so, the Prime trilogy was a masterpiece, and I don't think any of the other Metroid games are bad. Now all we need is an actual Metroid game for Wii U.

The prime series is where the action is!

I think I've heard of people that don't like Other M all because you can't sequence break.

That's not why I didn't like it. Metroid Fusion didn't allow non-TAS sequence breaks, and I still really enjoyed it. I'm not sure what the deal was with Other M, exactly. It was just a little disappointing, I suppose.

I for one LOVE Samus, so don't be surprised when I say I loved every game I've played

I loved how Other M gave her a personality. Now, I have to the dudes above me, If you were a little child and you witnessed Ridley kill your parents or something similar, wouldn't you be afraid?

ADAM IS NOT HER BOYFRIEND!!!!!!!! He was her father figure.

Here are my favorites in order:

1.Metroid: Other M
2.Metroid Prime: Hunters
3.Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
4.Metroid 2: Return of Samus
5.Metroid


I'm really peeved with Nintendo about that Ambassador Program, because I want Metroid Fusion so freaking bad...

^ Exactly. Chasing him down in Prime 1 and encountering him. Falling down a damned shaft while fighting him in Prime 3. Not to mention Samus' effortless dodging in the Omega Ridley cutscene.

^Other M takes place before those two games. Its supposed to be the sequel to Super Metroid I think.


Even so, its kinda hard to make a pixelated Samus with a suit cry

^ No. Adam's death is only mentioned in Fusion, which is last in the series chronologically. You can look it up anywhere.

^It made her more human. I personally found the fact that she can actually feel fear made her all me more appealing as a game character.

Yoshi, did you play Other M? Did you not see Adam walk into the Bottleship's Sector Zero and eject it? Did you not see it blow up? If you didn't get the implication that he died on that thing, thats pretty sad.

The only songs I can remember from Other M vividly is Ridleys battle theme the pre game title screen and the post game title screen.

You're not getting my point. In any of the OTHER games, the only time Adam is even spoken of is in Fusion. What actually happened to Adam is obvious, a scene you can't miss. What I am saying is that Samus was never this emotional on the other past games, when suddenly Other M made her susceptible to that kind of thing. Didn't see her cry upon Rundas' death, did you? Or any of the other hunters? Even at the end of Prime 3, where she recollects on those memories?

I'm not hating on Samus here. Samus is one of my favorite characters to exist, but I don't like the whole approach to her character in Other M. It seems like the silent protagonist characteristic is the better option in the Metroid series.
