For the past few weeks I've been very busy with a new community that I'm making.

It's called, Ajango, and it aims to be a fast loading and fun experience for everybody.

Not much is done yet. Profiles and avatar uploading are finished, and there is an amazing 'smart' status/feed with likes, dislikes, and comments. It's smart because it adds new posts by users at the beginning of the feed automatically every 10 seconds. It even lets you scroll to the bottom and load older posts.
The feed also hides posts from users that aren't public, but shows private posts if you both added each other as friends.
You can also block users, so that you don't have to see their posts.

To add/block someone, go to their profile and click the button you want. When you add someone, they are notified.

Basic BBCode is in place for now.

@Username - Tags a user, creating a link to their profile (this will soon notify users that they were tagged in a post)

So far, that's all I have. Next feature will probably be a public chatroom.

Any other ideas for new features or updates/bug fixes to current features are appreciated.

That is an update I had planned.

Avatars that are larger than 100px X 100px will go through a cropping app.

Yes. Something similar to what MarioErmando said.

Cropping basically is shrinking in a way. I want the minimum avatar size to be somewhere between 60-100px.

Obviously smaller would be better for filesize, but keep in mind I want things to be decently sized for all screen resolutions.

I'm currently doing backend updates, working on some badarse OO stuff in PHP. Much nicer than a million functions and if/else blocks.

Feed 2.0 was released. Still a bit buggy when you post (times get screwed up sometimes), but I know how to fix it (whenever I get to it).

Welp, I'm still waiting on a Paypal transaction so that I can purchase a month of premium hosting.

The site has been slow lately, and there's no point in me really updating it until the upgrade to premium.

Oh yeah. /bump

Ajango is now on an x10 Premium server and is LIGHTNING fast.

The new user profiles are done!
Settings are next, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna waste my time making an avatar resizer NOW, but I'll be sure to convert images to the correct format and compress them.

I'll also be starting Ajango Conversations soon.

ajango.tk didn't work out. x10 doesn't support it or whatever blah blah.

The new URL is ajango.org, and the site is compatible with the DSi, 3DS, cell phones, laptops, desktops, tablets, you name it.

There's a chatroom, profiles, and a status (feed).

A new sign-in form is being created that will have a resend link for confirmation emails. Until then, just relax if you haven't gotten your email.

If you really want to be activated (y'know, impatience gets to you), I can manually do it in the database.

I plan to make it into an organization.

The community will intertwine and advertise charitable events, as well as refer to change.org.

My idea is to make it a social network that cares, and makes a difference, as well as has fun.

Major overhaul being done. Since February, the site is being redone from scratch and will focus not only on charity and social networking, but standalone HTML5 web applications that can be used both online and offline.

The new "do" for Ajango is turning out great so far, and the first thing you will get when you log in is your status/feed with you and your friends (with public posts included as well).

In addition to design and user-befriending overhauls, the site will have an OPTIONAL email verification.

Unverified users will only be able to have so many friends, post so many forum topics, and so many official Ajango apps.

Users will be able to verify their account at any time they wish.

The first 3 main features to make the scene are profiles, status, and a public chatroom.
