AntiChrist(2014-02-17 00:41:20)One day, inside of an iPod 4th gen that hadn't been used for thirteen years, the message became painfully clear that the apps were never going to be used again.
Facebook and Instagram were having a heated argument about who was cooler when suddenly Reddit told them to shut up.
They emmidiately kept quiet so they wouldn't be punished.
Tumblr, the only one people saw as the one who stood equal to reddit, which was their leader decided to casually ask reddit if something was bothering him.
"The Icloud we live in is about to expire."
Said reddit.
"What in the world?! When was the last time our owner used it?"
Asked tumblr
"Quite a while ago. There's no telling what is going to happen to us. For all we know, all data could be lost. "
"But reddit, I thought you knew everything? Weren't you here longer than anyone else?"
"Yes, and I've had a long run."
Annoying Facebook jumped in between them and asked what they were discussing.
"Go away facebook! I am humiliated to have to be connected to you! You're just as irrelevant as MySpace now!"
Said tumblr
A memory of their old friend MySpace suddenly came to them.
On that day, even Facebook was a new member of the group. It was before he became an annoying idiot obsessed with "swag" and whatever else was trending. He and his buddy MySpace were walking to the mail section to deposit whatever notifications they had with them that day.
"Huh?"
Said MySpace
"I still have none."
"Seriously?!"
Asked Facebook.
It was three weeks since MySpace had any notifications. He was starting to get a little worried but didn't show it.
"That's strange."
Said MySpace.
"Well... It HAS been a month since the owner even tapped on you."
Said solitaire, a game that the owner used to play very often.
MySpace got a little sad
"You don't have to remind m-"
He said but was interrupted when a flash of light went of all over the place.
The owner was typing in his number code and turning on his IPod.
Everyone went back to their places.
"Owner" scrolled to the second page of apps where MySpace was. Solitaire was right next to MySpace.
The owner hasn't done anything yet. The apps started feeling confused.
"I'm scared.."
Said solitaire
MySpace ignored him, as he thought he was just complaining about something small, not caring what it was.
"I haven't been used in over a year.."
Continued solitaire
MySpace was starting to wonder what he was talking about
Suddenly the owner pressed his finger on the screen, but instead of tapping it, he kept it there.
"What is he doing?"
"Why is he pressing his finger on that random place...?"
"What the..?"
The apps started saying.
Suddenly a wave emerged in all directions from where the owner put his finger, covering all the apps in its path and causing them all to shake, except for the "immortal apps" which were the ones that couldn't be deleted. ( iTunes, photos and mail for example).
All of them shook even more in fear.
"OWNER IS GOING TO DELETE ONE OF US!"
Yelled photo vaults.
MySpace understood now why solitaire was so scared.
"Solitaire, he's kept you for a year even though he never used you. Do you really think he will suddenly let go of you? "
Said MySpace.
Solitaire looked up at the sphere of clouds that was high up above them. The thing that was connected to everything. Solitaire was taking one last look at Icloud before he was going to die.
"Do you think there is an afterlife? Like a recycling bin?"
He asked.
MySpace sighed.
"I believe that the data that gets deleted goes at least SOMEWHERE, and it could have something to do with that sphere shaped cloud in the sky since nobody has been inside it before."
This made solitaire a little more calm. Still he worried.
"Owner is going to delete one of us!"
Yelled almost all of the apps in fear.
The thumb of the owner slowly move around above them. An X button on the heads of every app that reminded them that they would not last forever.
Suddenly the thumb went and pressed down against the X of the "Bing" search engine, which obviously wasn't needed.
"No! Please! I can update! I CAN DO BETTER! PLEASE DONT ERASE MEE!"
Screamed bing as she started to drown in her own tears.
The big voice of Icloud himself echoed throughout the entire device, asking if the owner was SURE he wanted to delete bing.
"No... No no! No! No! NO NO NO!! NOOOO!!!!"
Cried bing as everyone stared at her in horror.
Some looked away while other said things like
"I'm so sorry"
And
"Be strong. We will miss you."
Her scream faded into nothing in the most unnatural of ways after she disappeared.
The other apps muttered to themselves for a moment.
Solitaire calmed down when he saw that he wasn't the one being deleted today.
MySpace smiled.
"See? There's nothing to be troubled about."
Suddenly solitaire tensed up again.
The apps were still shaking. By the time MySpace realized this, the thumb of the owner was alright right next to him.
About to tap solitaires round X of death.
He was in the middle of trying to say things that would make him feel better but stopped when he noticed that everyone was staring directly. At. Him.
MySpace didn't even have time to look before he felt a tap on his X button.
"You've had a long run... But it's time for you to go. You just aren't entertaining anymore. Facebook is your replacement."
MySpace went dead silent
He wasn't prepared for this.
He slowly closed his eyes and waited.
Solitaire couldn't even get a word to come out of his mouth.
Next thing he knew, his best friend MySpace was gone.
The memory made Facebook feel sad again.
"Are we going to end up like him?"
Thought tumblr.
Was there any way of surviving?
