LaughingJill(2014-03-16 05:45:20)You can hear the screams at night. Both human and non.
You can hear the grotesque sounds of which only death can match. However, it isn't always death.
If you had to choose to keep yourself underground or change, which would you choose? Too late, the mass of swarming people, including your brother, drag you down into the Metro.
The Military keeps you safe, so does your brother. He'd keep you safe from anything. He goes up to the surface, risking perfectly good filters and his life to help the Military.
He's not in the Military, he more or less just goes along with them, silent and strong. You stay underground, trying your best to get currency in order to maintain a somewhat "Normal" lifestyle.
But then everything turns. People rise to power and reform horrible factions. You and your brother chose to stay out of the faction war, yet you stay in Guild territory, far away from Comminists and Nazis.
You keep asking your brother to take you up top to see the surface, but he says you're still a fragile young woman living in a man's world. What makes this a man's world? You think.
The answer remains hidden among the great minds of the leaders in each faction. The world is dangerous as your brother says, he tells you stories of the surface, stories of how he barely avoids being shanked in a street, stories of corrupt law and finally, stories of when it was normal.

When will it ever be normal though?
Nigh Impossible...
