Favorite champion is Alder.

Not because he's powerful or looks cool, but because he's the only champion who doesn't give the slightest damn whether he wins or loses. Since his Pokemon partner died of illness when he was younger, the only thing he cares about is the bond between trainer and Pokemon.

Compare to Blue/Green: "I'm the Best"

Lance: "I am a Dragon type trainer. Come at me bro."

Steven: "I may be a super intimidating Steel type champion, but I'm also a bit of a rock nut"

Wallace: "I am fabulous. My pokemon are fabulous. Battling is fabulous. Be fabulous with me!"

Cynthia: No comment.

Diantha: "I am a super famous movie star who battles in my free time. I'm also the champion."

Skipping over Iris because she's the worst IMO

For Wallace and Iris, I keep wondering "How the hell did this loser get promoted to Champion?"

Wallace was slightly more excusable because I kind of saw it coming. Iris on the other hand just didn't seem all that tough, nor did she seem exceptionally skilled or knowledgeable. She was just a Dragon Gym Leader. That's it. I feel like they only did that because "Lance was a Dragon Trainer that replaced the previous champion, so why not have Iris do the same?"

This is of course, ignoring the fact that Lance was an E4 Member, the last and toughest one, and He was basically the only thing standing in the way of Anyone becoming champion again anyway.

Nearly the entire Elite 4 got replaced anyway. Lorolei and Agatha drop out and are replaced by Will and Koga. Lance got promoted, so his spot was taken by Katherine, leaving only Chuck as the only original E4 member to remain.

Meanwhile, Hoenn and Unova E4 are exactly the same after the champion swaps.

My least favourite champions are Red & Lance. Funny how they have my favourite theme in the entire series, though (HG/SS version).

Cynthia is over-rated. Sinnoh sucked anyways. Red, and maybe N. EVEN THOUGH N wasn't a champion for that long, he was the first challenge in B/W, and had ALOT more character and development then most anyone in the series. Red, because, well, he has the highest leveled CPU team EVER, and was the ACTUAL final boss.
