It was a sunny day out, the first in months due to the harsh winter which had just passed. Most of the snow and ice had melted, leaving the soil on the ground somewhat damp as I walked through the cemetery on the way home from school. The day had been boring and lacrosse practice left me exhausted, as the team did more sprints than the track team. Don't get me wrong, I love being alive. Life was just so repetitive.

I passed the tombstones, stepping around areas of mushy, mud-like soil and then passed through gap in the black spiked fence, making sure not to snag my lacrosse stick. About 2 minutes of jogging later, I was near my house. I lived in a townhouse complex, which was basically a lot of houses built connected to each other, As I got closer to my house, I noticed something odd.

An odd rumbling noise was coming from my neighbor's house.

"Eh, not my problem." I said to myself.

Not my problem.

Funny how that works. I honestly forgot about the competition. The Arena, that is.
It was as soon as I entered my house that I passed out. They were good, as they must have slid a canister of knockout gas into my house.

It wasn't too much to ask for a warning.

I'm just doing a reboot of this story out of boredom. I'm gonna just add a few changes, but imagine this as a change of timeline. It'll just be copy-paste up to a point. I'll say up to where I thought it fell apart. For those of you who've read it, just hang tight, I'm gonna cut it off and start again where it fell apart.
I should probably write a new story... but will I finish it?

It was a perfect life.

Everything you could ever want. The finest foods, the greatest videogames, invitations to the greatest parties. It was a guaranteed lifetime of pleasure. All in the palm of your hand...

but is it worth it?

The competition seemed like something of legends. You'd wake up one morning in a beautiful house. All of your friends and family would have no recollection of who you were, and it would be yours.

All of it.

The Arena of Myth was as it's title implied, a myth. No way to tell wether or not it really happened, although there were rumors. The myth goes that you'd be sent into a mansion. There would be 10 competitors, and after a series of challenges, they'd be sent on their way with a special type of debit-card allowing an infinite amount of cash. There were tons of stories, and tons of different ways they were told.

I never really cared about them until I was chosen. Unfortunately once you're chosen, the promise of lifelong happiness lures you in, you just can't say no. Even when you're fully aware of the consequences. You'll say yes in the end, but you'll come to regret it. Once you say yes, you're in the game. So is it worth it?

Lets find out.

My name is Aaron Fair, and I'll be your guide to the wonderful world of... no I really don't understand what's happening either. I awake in a pitch black room, in a daze. I'm laying in a bed with thick, fluffy sheets over me. It seems to be a nuisance but after a couple of minutes I manage to slide out of bed. Next problem, the lights. I take a couple steps forward and collapse.

Why do I feel so weak?

I crawl forward until I reach the wall... or something... after feeling around for a few seconds it seems to be a dresser. I make my way up to my feet, using it as leverage. Then I slowly inch along the walls until I feel...

A lightswitch! I'll just make sure to close my eyes so I'm not too shocked by the-

BOOM!

The door bursts open, and the room fills with light.

"MY EYES! WHYYY SWEET JESUS?" I scream in pure agony. I collapse to the ground covering my eyes with my hands. A male voice starts speaking.
"Oh look. Another basement dweller. How nice..."
I open my eyes, squinting, and soon my eyes are used to the light. It's then that I see him.

An average sized white boy stands in the doorway smirking, his hands in his jeans. On his arm is a tattoo glowing in bright blue light, showing the name Ryan. I get to my feet, and chuckle.

"Basement dweller huh? Sounds like someone woke up in the wrong side of the cardboard box." I slyly reply, "Well... Ryan. What am I doing here?"

His smile widens.
"We're gonna get along just fine. You're in the competition. It looks like we're all headed down to breakfast. Coming? Well first you should get dressed... Aaron. AWW MAN! You got green! Lucky... I'll wait outside your door for you."

I quickly turn the lights on, and he slams the door shut.

I examine the room. A large television with a Playstation 1... clearly no entertainment options. The bed looks wonderful, it even has drapes. An ATM looking machine is on the side of the room.

"Hey Ryan! What's this weird machine?" I shout into the hallway.

"It's a Playstation. I hear back in the day people would throw them at peo-"

"No the other thing!" I say laughingly

"Oh that?" He replies, "Type in the type of clothes you want and it'll come out of the slot."

I order up a blue shirt with Pac-Man in the center, and some grey sweatpants. Then I get some regular running shoes. After a quick swap from my PJ's I meet Ryan in the hallway.

The hallway is strange. Instead of the average things, it seems that it has gymnastics mats and padded obstacles, plus ropes on the ceiling that seem to lead across very large gaps with trampolines at the bottom.

"Welcome to the Mansion dude! It's not all like this, I got a peek at the other halls. All the obstacles are harmless, but unfortunately you can't make your way through without a little bit of skills."

"I'm game!" I happily reply, while cracking my knuckles, "I actually did a little parkour back home. This looks fun!"

I run and vault over a raised pad. Then I land. Without stopping I wall run halfway across a gap, then jump to the rope hanging over it, swinging to the other side before continuing my wall run. After landing with a roll, I get back up and see Ryan laugh then follow along.

He's good! I see a definite alliance here.

He gets towards me and gives a nice laugh, "Ha! You're pretty good at this! Looks like it's time to head down to breakfast! Race you there! He says."

"Oh it is SOOO on!" I provoke say.

Yeah. It's on!

Ryan and I made our way to the main room. I stood there completely amazed, as it was perfect. The carpet had an arcane pattern and two staircases curved downwards. A large chandelier was found in the center of the room. The entrance was completely glass, and the whole place had a fancy air about it. Ryan and I made our way downstairs and I took in the view along the way.

"So this is where we live?" I asked, "This looks a bit big for only 15 people..."
"That's because it is too big for only 15 people. See," he explained, "after the competition is over this is your home. So you'll have to make sure you're used to it. Meaning all past contestants live here."
I nodded in understanding.

We opened the door into the dining hall and suddenly I lost my will to eat...
it was a jungle.
Leaves and trees everywhere. We walked forwards along a dirt path and ended up at a large breakfast table. 8 people sat there, 5 guys and 4 girls. We seated ourselves. The entire table sat silent as we looked at one another. A pretty girl kept staring over at me, and I made no attempt to seem interested in her whatsoever.
Makes girls love ya!
I looked at the platter on the table in front of me. It had a large steak and eggs. I reached for the knife and fork in front of me and I was completely shocked!

HOLY CRAP I HAVE A TATTOO!!! Okay... stay calm... it's just your name. At least I got green.

I played it off and ate my steak as Ryan made several futile attempts to start conversation.

"So Ryan. You gonna eat your food?" I asked, ", steak and eggs dude."

Ryan lifted the top to his platter and there was a card. He lifted it up and read it aloud.
"I bet you'd kill for some breakfast right now..." A beep sounded, "I don't get it. I guess I'm supposed to... HOLY S**T! Aaron... a-a freaking lion!" I turned around and there I saw it. The table cleared as several members began running.

I grabbed my sharp kitchen knife, as did Ryan and the girl who kept staring at me. Ryan and I walked towards the lion as the girl tossed her knife and caught it by the sharp tip with her hand and forefinger. She then threw it at the lion and got a direct hit between the eyes. I ran forwards and stabbed it's neck to speed up the process. Ryan sat back down and sarcastically said "I hope you don't like eggs Aaron."
"Fine dude, their yours." I laughed.

After breakfast we made our way to the main room. There stood a man with a large boa-constrictor at his feet. He wore a black tuxedo shirt and sweatpants. We stood in a line facing him.

"Good... you're here. For this challenge I will need 4 of you. I hope you've enjoyed breakfast." He smiled looking directly at Ryan.
"Yeah. Who wouldn't love killing lions. Can't get enough..."

"Well all of those who would like to compete step forward and make your way to the bus."

I quickly step forwards.
"Aaaah... eager are we?" The host said, getting a couple laughs from the crowd.
Ryan and a muscular man step forwards, followed by another average guy. After taking some time, the host stepped forwards and said, "Arms out."
I assumed he meant the tattoo on my left arm. Ryan had it on his right arm, although I'm guessing they're decided by your dominant hand because the other 2 guys had it on their right arms too.

"Aaron... Ryan... John... and Zack. You've taken a challenge that may be too much for you. Here's the question, are you ready?"

The lights turn off and we're standing in the center of a circular shadow... it's a ball... OH GOODNESS IT'S!

"A POKEBALL!"
Ryan and I shout in unison.
"Good. You're well familiar with these creatures, but..." The lights turned back on to show him smiling.

"Would you fight one for your dream?"

On the bus drive there we split into two different groups. Me and Ryan in one, John and Zach in the other. We didn't prefer to talk with the others, although their conversation seemed important. It was Zach explaining Pokemon to the buffer John who, quite frankly, didn't seem interested in the least. Although there could be multiple victors, and power is found in numbers, John seemed to find it crucial in his part to seperate us from him and Zach, who was obviously the brains.

"Ugh... this stupid tattoo is distracting," Ryan began, "and ever since he told us that they doubled as communicators I swear that it grew a little. There were no waves on either side."
I stared at my arm and notice the "Wifi" symbol near the green name tattoo on my arm. I laughed, although it was shortly lived. The bus came to a stop, and we stood up to leave, but after a quick look outside the window I decided to stop our exit.
"Stop!"
Ryan halts and looks back with a confused look on his face,
"Uhh... WHY IS SHE NAKED?!?"

This stops them.

"Who?" John asks,

"Nobody. I needed to stop you. Let me tell you about a little thing called... "foreshadowing". Now in the movies, those stupid people tend to leave the group and end up dying. Why? Well they obviously didn't check their surroundings. They died because they were caught off guard. I'll tell you one thing..." I looked away, I had to choose my next words carefully.

"If you think this'll be easy. Kill yourself right now.

This hits home with them. I look forwards and notice a large Rhydon charging at us. We run out of the back emergency exit, and sprint for the forest making sure to stop in a clearing. Along the way there are several large pokemon dangers such as Turtwig and Chimchar... not so much Piplup. I actually kick a Piplup, and it soars majestically through the air and cracks its skull on a boulder. We remove the body and set up camp. Well Ryan and I, as John and Zach set off for a hint on our current objective. We find out how the telecommunication in our tattoos work sorta. Basically it's witchcraft, and normally people would be burned for having it. Yeah we don't know what we're doing...

"Well" I start, "So far we've been sitting for roughly 5 seconds and I already don't feel comfortable."
"Well be thankful that Piplup you killed wasn't dangerous... then again Piplup are pretty docile."

We sit and joke about the humor of Pokemon, and the immense amount of fail held within Linoone.

We're kept on edge by a constant ruffling in the bushes. After a couple of seconds it stops. However a few minutes later, it's extremely loud and surrounding us. A group of Luxray charge at us, and we attempt to run. We go back to the boulder... wait nevermind. The boulder is gone. OH GOODNESS!

A large Graveler stands, holding the bloody skull of a Luxray. It throws it out of sight and roars.

This was definitely not in the game...

ROOOOOOAAAAAAAAARG!

Ryan and I break for it, but the Luxray are too fast. Ryan gets tackled to the ground by one, but I kick it off of him. Graveler breaks into a sprint and attempts to crush a Luxray, but is met with a lightningbolt so fierce that it explodes. That's the end of that... Ryan and I attempt to flee, but find ourselves surrounded once more. I realize that we can't rely on miracles such as Graveler if we want to survive. Picking up a nearby rock, I charge at one. Ryan takes a stick and does the same. I swing at one, but it jumps back, then sends a lightningbolt at me, but only hitting the rock out of my hand. It attempts to tackle me but is met with a fierce uppercut, causing it to be vertical in the air. I jab its stomach then turn quickly to watch my back. Ryan seemed to be having more luck, he's already taken out 2 of them. He swung the stick and hit one directly in the snout, then ran towards me.
"RUN! I CAN'T STAND THESE THINGS!" He shouted,

I was in no position to argue, as this was in fact the perfect opportunity to run. As we ran one smaller pokemon followed us... a Turtwig. It must've been being hunted too. I saw it running out of breath and ran back to it. I ran back.
"What's going on?" Ryan shouted, coming to a stop,
I replied
"I saw this guy chasing us! I couldn't help but feel bad for it.
I picked up the panting Turtwig, and we continued running.

Off in the distance on a tree there was a note. Ryan must not have seen it. I signal him over to it, and we start reading it.

"Go to sleep, and awaken in paradise. If you survive."
I saw two marks on each side. One was a "J", the other a "Z". It was in dried mud. I look down and wipe my finger in the dirt. Then I make an "A".
"Ryan, put an "R" there, it's just in case they come back."

He does, and then we set off. Turtwig walking alongside us. I Ryan begins singing a stupid song about Friday, when suddenly a man wrapped in blue gauze approaches screaming "SAAAAAAUUK!"

Me: Sock?
Guy: SAAAAAAUK!!
Me: Soak?
Guy: SAAAAAAAUK!!!11!
Ryan: Sack?
Guy: SAAAAUK!!¡¡!one!!
Turtwig: BULBASAUR!
Me: Wait... wut?

Suddenly the guy starts doing weird gymnastics stuff, when out of nowhere a huge floating happy ice-cream cone speeds by, sweeping him into an icy cave.
"Well... o-okay..."

We finish walking and find a large coliseum. Entering it proves to be impossible, so we don't! We walk around it, and set up camp on the side. Meaning we lay down on the ground and try our best to sleep...
"Hey Aaron..."
"Yes, Ryan."
"If Turtwig doesn't have ears, how does it hear?"
"Ryan, that's a good question. I'll answer it with another question... no. I just won't answer it."

We fall asleep. Only, soon we're woken up to the sound of Turtwig fighting a Darmanitan!

It uses bullet seed, horribly wounding the opposing pokemon. Darmanitan begins bleeding out, and turns to stone. However it stops moving... well. Makes sense. Turtwig appeared very hurt, and falls to the ground. I run over to it, and pick it up. Looking up reveals 3 figures walking towards me...

No... not more pokemon. I'll kill them all... oh wait those are people. It's... Zach! There's also a Lucario! That's not John... he must have...

Hello! My name is Red. I saw this guy here trying to cross the river. His friend... tried fighting a Magikarp and died. I tried warning him that splash attack was dangerous in real life..."
"It happens" I reply, "We need to sleep!"

He pulls out a pokeball, and out comes Jigglypuff. Before I can kick it far away, it sings, and I'm instantly knocked out.

I did it! First challenge... I won!...

I awaken in a dimly lit room. The walls are dirty and the wallpaper is ripped and peeled off in certain areas. It looks like I'm in a hospital... only I get the feeling that this one doesn't "heal" people. I try getting up only to realize that I'm tied down. Not very legit, I noticed that the knot on my left arm was loose. A tray next to my hospital bed contained bloody hospital instruments. The blood was dry, and I there were no noticeable changes to my body. Other than the fact that I was tied up to a hospital bed... in an unknown location... and you know... I had no idea how I got here. A noise is very apparent somewhere to the right of my room. I can't make it out. Kinda like bumping at first but then... screams...

Something bad is happening

I hear screams coming from two rooms over. At first it was average screams (if that's even a thing), but soon it changed.
Excruciating screams.
These screams get louder and louder, for 10 minutes, until finally it stops. The sound of screaming is replaced by that of laughter. Intense laughter. I hear footsteps, and then the door next to the room I was in opened. I had to leave, fast.

I wriggled my left arm until the loose knot completely untied. I tried untying my other arm, but no use. I pulled until the fragile bedframe broke. Standing up proves to be a mistake, as I turn around to see a very clear message. Written in blood on the wall is "Make it Home" On a dissection tray next to it was an arm... severed and twitching. On it was a glowing white tattoo, that had a name...

JOHN

That was enough to make me want to escape. I made my way to the door, picking up a VERY sharp portable buzzsaw.

Where do these guys get these things?

I gently push the door open and crouch down. I first turn to my left, and see a window. I'd have to go the other way... crap. I quickly take in the view of the hallway. A dingy wreck of an abandoned hospital, looked straight out of a horror movie. Vines grew on the darkened walls and the floor tiles were cracked. Well. This would be fun.

I began walking when I hear a singing, followed by a loud bang from the room next to the one I awakened in. Suddenly the door flies off the hinges. I run over to peer into the room, only to find a masked man holding a chainsaw. Next to the man was a Lucario, and hanging by chains was a Turtwig. The man walked over to two pink objects on the ground... wait that's.

JOKETIME with Aaron!
What's pink, in half, and red all over?
Jigglypuff

Not funny... I know... anywho!

The masked stranger followed a trail of blood to see a large leaf, with razor sharp edges. I shall refer to it as a Razor Leaf.

That Turtwig looks familiar... like the one who followed me in the forest.

It looks up at me, then croaks. it's shell was cracked, and it looked scared. It didn't take long for Lucario to look at me too. I broke into a sprint and activated the electric buzzsaw. I swung at the pokemon, who quickly dodged and shot an orb of energy at me. I dodged it and abruptly made my way towards the Turtwig. I started grinding at the chains, there were only two. One on one front leg, another on one back leg. Lucario alerted its master, who glared at me. The first chain broke, and Turtwig fell to the ground. He stumbled to his feet and collapsed, unconscious.

"Damn! This is your fault... you hurt my friend... no hard feelings. You probably didn't know he was my friend." I said bluntly, "Unfortunately, that changes nothing. I'm gonna have to beat you."

"Beat me?" The masked man said in a familiar voice, "Pokemon are superior creatures. You'll die in this place." He said, taking out a stereo, "LEEEETS BATTLE!" He began playing the battle theme from Pokemon Black. He bobbed up and down, and Lucario began doing strange movements.

I threw the buzzsaw at his stereo, and it burst into flames, exploding and shards flew into Lucario seriously injuring it.

"Dude... just no... no..." I said disappointed.

He tossed Lucario a berry... and Lucario ate it. Surprisingly enough, Lucario didn't heal at all. I laughed for a little, which gave Lucario time to approach me. He began charging a HUGE ball of energy. Parts of the hospital room began to explode, as objects were drawn into the orb as it grew. I looked around the room, and a tray was sliding towards the energy orb. I noticed a katana and reached for it! Only I missed and instead picked up a bent spoon. The tray, and the mysterious mans mask was drawn into the orb of extreme killing potential. I got a good look at the man, and surely enough I knew them. It was Red... the friendly man guy from the forest. He began speaking.

"Yes! You now see the-" I couldn't hear the rest over the sound of the orb which had grown to the size of half of the room. Lucario shot it at me, and I braced for impact... but...

BUT IT FAILED

The room, along with the rest of the already beat down hospital began to collapse. A large chunk of ceiling fell creating a huge hole straight down in the center of the room. We must've been on the top floor this whole time. Parts of the ceiling began to crumble, and Red saw. In an instant, we locked eyes and knew neither of us would let the other just leave. I began speaking
"This won't end well for you. Your chainsaw was lost along with that aura sphere... so we're pretty much on the same level."

"Says you!" he replied, "I still have a pokemon. He may have be weak, but he always ready to go!"
"Yeah, that's what she said!" I said laughingly. The Lucario charged at me and began his attempt to fire pulses of energy in me through contact.

Turtwig stumbled to his feet and staggered inches towards Red. Red attempted to run but seeds attached to vines shot at lightning fast speed towards the fleeing trainers back. The seeds penetrated through his back and surges indicated he was being drained of energy. Turtwig began looking better and better!

Looks like Red couldn't escape... heheh

Lucario attempted to stop the Turtwig, but I tackled it to the ground. I picked it up and threw it into the large hole found in the center of the room. I then looked back up at Turtwig and saw Red swinging it like a flail. He threw at an angle and I saw the angle leading to the hole. I backed up a couple of steps, and then ran and dived.

Directly above the hole.

I grabbed the vines with one hand and my chest made it across the gap. The Turtwig looked scared, but if one of us had to go, I'd make sure it was me. Red limped towards us, half conscious.
"Why hello there. What do we have here? Oh yeah... two. Little. Devils. I guess," He lifted a large chunk of fallen ceiling. "You'll be going away now!"

He lifted it above his head, preparing to crush my upper body. I swung Turtwig by the vines, that were barely detaching, and hit him directly in the stomach. I could see his attempts at withstanding it were futile, as he dropped the slab, and staggered backwards. I fully crawled up and saw Turtwig, vines detached, walk forward and lie down. Red was still stumbling, but in his attempt to keep balance, he fell onto a rolling table. I ran towards him, and just before he could roll anywhere dangerous, I stopped him. I couldn't let him die that way.

"W-what're you doing?" He said, Don't you wanna kill me?"

"No" I said, exhaling, "You're strong in my opinion... and..." I turned away.

"When you're strong, you can choose your death."

I walked away and heard him crying desperately. I picked up Turtwig and left. I saw the unconscious Lucario on the ground floor, somewhat unconscious, then looked up and noticed a large hole going straight upwards. The sunlight felt nice, as it was morningtime. I found my way out of there and ended up in a beat down town.

It didn't take long for me to find my way out of town... but I was tired. I immediately collapsed. My tattoos glow bengins brightening, and the wifi mark begins shifting. Soon, I can no longer see due to it's blinding mark. After the strange feat is done, my name appears less average and WAAAY more arcane. While moving my arm, I notice a strange glow on my chest. Soon my arms have lost the will to move. Looks like I'm too tired to move right now. Turtwig wraps a vine around my foot, and drags me along a path leading to the forest. Soon though, a helicopter lands near us. The competitions host with the dapper suit and his boa constrictor exit the helicopter. He begins walking, and Turtwig definitely doesn't appreciate his presence. Leech seeds are shot at the man. He moves his head slightly to the side allowing the vines to pass his head, then grips the root connecting the seeds and the Turtwigs body. Adrenaline courses through me and I get up and stagger.

The roots begin glowing, and Turtwig collapses in pain. I grab the vines but soon I'm forced to the ground by a strange force.
A voice is heard in my head.

"You have no idea what you're doing. Do you plan on keeping pets?

I begin screaming.
"YES! HE SAVED MY LIFE! STOP KILLING HIM!"

"It was televised. The whole fiasco. I am well aware of your victory over the killer Red. Your honorable choice to keep him alive has caught my attention. I'm rooting for you"

The root stops glowing, and then begins glowing bright green. The Turtwig is immediately healed.

"So I don't want you to die."

The host begins smiling and leads us to the copter. It automatically begins flying itself.

I know I'm alive but...
WHERE'S RYAN?!?

What is up with this guy, and how can he do all that stuff?
...and my tattoo... what's up with it?

"I know you have questions, I'm sure of it. For any question you have, I have an answer. So..."

"Fire away..."

"Okay then Aaron, firstly you should know... Zachary and John are both dead. Red wasn't lying about John, and in that hospital... Zachary was killed and his organs were harvested." The host said sadly, then looked at my arm,
"The entire competition is funded by the Special Task Forces. Only it's become a way for them to not do anything at all, as my special tattoos have the unique trait of granting special abilities. You have recieved the Ti-fi tattoo. You may communicate telepathically with others, in their native language, regardless of your language. The others had a chance to gain this tattoo, and some have taken the opportunity. They are on their mission right now."

I nodded, but then the question came back,
"WHERE'S RYAN!?"

"Well, this part is pretty unfortunate... his tattoo didn't really change like yours. His stayed the same, meaning the effect ended when he got back to the mansion... so he was one of the three people to take the challenge... he knows what he got himself into."

"What are you saying? Is he okay?"

"Well their adventure has just started being televised, so I don't know."

This was all too real... I couldn't risk him dying, and the words slipped out.

"I want to compete in this challenge."

"Sorry Aaron, but you've already gained this tattoo... going there would be a huge mistake, as I've rigged these areas to just give the tattoo to anyone with a special name tattoo like yours. I don't know what would happen if you got multiple tattoos..."

I was silent. For the rest of the ride to the mansion. I simply exited the vehicle, and walked towards the mansion.

"You know Aaron, the show should be half over. If you wanna check to see if he's okay so far just go check. You also have a special surprise in your room... just don't like break your neck on one of the safety mats"

I laughed a little harder than I should've. When we got to the mansion, he directed me to the theater. We had to go through a dark cave, but luckily the host, who had revealed his name to be Justin, had tattoos on his palms that he could light up. We found our way through the cave easily. I heard a huge crowd scream and ran ahead through what looked like an average movie theater. I burst open the door and took the horrifying sight on the screen in. A large dragon lifted Ryan up, and prepared to breathe fire onto him. Until a figure in armor appeared, screamed aloud something that I knew all too well.

The dragon staggered back and Ryan fell to the ground. He ran to the knight and the knight handed him two swords seemingly out of thin air. Ryan charged at the dragon and slashed at it's scaly skin. It clawed at him in return, but he rolled away just in time. The knight just stood there... why?

I made my way across the movie theatre, and sat in an empty row... the only empty row. It appeared all the past winners had been here too, I could see all their tattoos glowing dimly in the room.

I looked back up at the screen, to see Ryan holding a scroll and whispering an incantation. A blue electric orb shot forward and hit the ground, leaving a cool arcane, circular pattern. The dragon attempted to take flight, but Ryan threw a sword piercing the dragons wing. It landed an began a roar leaving a trail of smoke from its mouth. Ryan ran forwards and slashed its leg, causing it to lean down, he jammed a sword in its neck and then ran to the circular arcane pattern he casted earlier. The dragon limped towards him, and he backed away. The dragon stepped directly on the circle, and lightning burst forth from the ground beneath, surging through the metal sword and exploding the dragons neck.

The figure walked towards the dragon and then a strange smoke-like aura exited the dragon and entered the knight. He turned to Ryan, and shook his hand. He then gave Ryan a bag, full of books and papers. Ryan smiled and nodded and said
"The greatest treasure of all... knowledge... F this."

The crowd burst into laughter and the screen turned black.

Everyone exited the theater and a lot of people stayed in the lobby talking. I was approached by several people with comments such as "Oh cool aren't you Aaron! Loved your win against Red" and "Oh I wouldn't mess with you!". All was well until some prick said
"I bet I could've killed him in seconds."
"It wasn't about killing people, it was about escape. My job was done, and he already couldn't move."

He gave me an odd look, then immediately looked back at his group of friends. They looked somewhat sinister. He held his hand towards me and smiled revealing dirty teeth, and said
"Is that a challenge kid."

I assumed he was about to use some cool powers. His palm had a strange tattoo, that glowed with power, but it changed colors from red to white. Then I felt a strange force push me towards the wall. I hit it with a loud bang, drawing attention from the surrounding crowd. I stood up.

Well that wasn't very kind.

I ran at him, and he did the same thing. This time the surrounding crowd laughed. I had to find a way to defeat him. The third try, I was flung against the wall, but I saw in a split second a wave of something fly at me quickly.

"ARE YOU DEAD YET?" The guy screamed, looking at the crowd for laughs. (He got laughs by the way D: )

I charged at him, and this time I anticipated the wave. I rolled under it, and then I sprung upwards over a second. Since I was within reaching distance, I knew I wouldn't be able to dodge this. I grabbed his arm, and held it up to my chest.

This is gonna hurt!

He laughed and then the color and shape of his tattoo changed. It was blue. He sent a pulse of electricity through my body, but I felt nothing. I actually anticipated the power, and placed one hand on his chest.

"Not smart."

I felt an odd discharge as an explosion of lightning seperated me from him. It shot uncontrollably and he flew towards the wall opposite of me, leaving a body shaped imprint.

I suddenly heard a familiar voice say
"THAT WAS SICK!"
I turn around to see Ryan smiling,
"and I fight dragons..."

The entire crowd rushed towards him and began celebrating. He was ecstatic. I turn around for one second and find the man I had antagonized gone, along with his group of friends. Oh well.

I can't wait until I get those powers!

I had returned to my room and found an odd circle with strange markings. I looked a note found next to it.

You have been recognized by the gods. Please accept this weapon as our token of appreciation.

I looked at the orb, then back at the note and the message had changed. I dropped the card and immediately grasped the orb in my hands. I crushed it, and my arms had no definite changes. Then it happened, just as Ryan opened the door.

"Woooah! Wha-"

The entire room was bathed in a nice green light that shifted to white. It died down and my tattoo transitioned back to green.

Ryab: Yours too eh?

Me: Maybe. Well did you get the letter too.

Ryan: Yep. You're going too eh? Hope we're on teams!

Me: We will be. I'm team captain!

We went downstairs immediately, and I passed Turtwig along the way. He seemed to be caught up in his own things, as he was learning to traverse the complicated obstacles of the mansion.

Over large gaps, and through walls that would rebuild as soon as you smash through them, the obstacles were actually an exercise today. We made it down to the main hall and there I...

...fell down the large staircase...

After getting laughed at, Justin our host directed us to get onto a bus.

I sat next to Ryan and before long, a girl appeared and sat alone behind us.

"Hey there Aaron!" she said, "You did pretty good against Red! I was scared you'd die for a moment..."
After a look at her tattoo to get her name, which was Maria, I responded.
"Thanks Maria, but I don't really plan on dying. Besides, I'd hate to miss out on this next challenge!"
"Same here! I can't believe that these games are real!"

Her, Ryan and I had a long conversation about it, then the bus stopped. We all got out, at an old ceremonial site. Justin started talking, and since he was the host I made sure to listen to his every word. Those of us who had received letters stepped forwards.

Justin began,
"Those who have been chosen all have gotten through at least one challenge. As a reward, you have recieved your "Ti-fi" tatoo modification. You shall now be choose teams. As the gods have already chosen, Aaron has his choice!"

I stepped forwards.

"Ryan, and Maria."
"Great! Now you may step forwards and make your way to the altar."

We walked forwards and the ground raised from underneath us. I sat cross legged on mine, as Ryan kneeled, and Maria held forwards a thumbs up. Justin finished,

"Our first competitor is Ryan the Dragonslayer! He's helped several of you obtain your tattoos, and has truly earned this honor!"
Ryan was enshrouded in light as the sound of an angels chorus sounded. The light shot from under his pedestal, and he was gone afterwards.

Next there is Maria, the Marksman! She gained her tattoo as the only survivor of her challenge in the fields of Hyrule, saving even Link!"

Maria disappeared in the same fashion as Ryan.

"Lastly, there's Aaron the Savior! He's the first survivor, and helped in the apprehension of Red the corrupt trainer. He also has a pet Turtwig in the Mansion!"

I was bathed in light and could barely make out the applause above the sound of a choris singing. I arrived in a great palace with a large carpet stretching across a large marble floor. Winged guards led me to a room where I was expecting to see Ryan and Maria, but was instead met by a familiar woman in *cough*GREEK*cough* robes. The guards kneeled with one arm outstretched towards her. I walked forwards and she stood, her long green hair flowing onto her robes. She stood in front of me, and appeared to be blushing.
"I've been waiting for you Aaron. I along with many other gods have been hoping for your arrival. We've watched the competition, and even help the special forces unit of Earth."

She laughed and I smiled a little. I had kinda liked her a little. She looked at my arm, and appeared confused, then proceeded to tell me her name.

"Hello, I'm Palutena!"

Weapons training is odd. I got this weird palm that seems to fire a human version of Aurum technology. In other words, it fires green pulses REALLY REALLY fast. I can charge it up too. Suddenly two angels burst forth through the door. Wait... there was no door there... the door disappeared, as I fell back hopelessly. It looked like twins at first, while it was then revealed that it was Pit and... Pitto- I mean "Dark Pit." They paused in front of me, then looked at my arm frazzled.

Pit:A-Aar-aaaar

Dark Pit: It's A-A-R-O-M Pit.

Me: I'm Aaron!

"WHOAH!" They said in unison as I propelled myself up with my hands. The palm, mixed with my natural tattoo was a good look. I knew I'd give it back in the end though. It was somewhat uneasy knowing where it came from, even without the actual Aurum origins within it.

"Follow us!" They said, leaving the training area. I ran behind them as both of their wings lifted them off of the ground. I broke into a sprint in order to catch up when suddenly a voice echoed
Need some help Aaron? Here!

I was suddenly lifted off of my feet, even without wings. I blew past them into Palutenas hall and suddenly I hit the ground... but I didn't stop there. I hit the smooth ground like a skipping stone and ended up flying into a large column where I was knocked unconscious.

I awoke at a later time on top of a pedestal. Palutena began talking to me

"Oh great! You're awake... finally. Well match is starting, bye!"

THAT'S IT!?!

I slowly descended onto a rough ground. It was HOT! I ran forwards and saw a large pool of lava! Nearby on the other side I could barely make out the opposing warriors. They were the black team... (can I say that?)

Anywho! I stumbled backwards and got caught by something...
Maria!
"Watch your step captain! We kindq need you here."
"Yeah Aaron! That Aurum palm of yours is powered up because of your tattoo." Ryan said, revealing himself.

"Thanks guys! You ready? I'm not sure if they ar-"
I was cut off by Palutenas voice

They'd better be! It's time for the match to begin! START!

I looked back at Maria and Ryan to get a good look at their weapons. Maria had a Meteor Bow, and Ryan had a Samurai Blade.

"Ryan, go left, Maria stay here!"
I ordered. They nodded, and Maria shot once sending a large pulse of energy that curved at a 90 degree angle nailing an opposing warrior in the face. They fell backwards, and quickly got up. I took some steps back then ran forwards and jumped a large gap over the lava, landing with a nice roll, and then looked for an opponent. I found one too. Sprinting forwards, I slid with a "matrix" backbend, narrowly avoiding a large Black Club. Another strike was aimed, but I gut punched the opponent, then struck their helmet. They dropped the club, and pulled out a handle, then a Burst Blade revealed itself. He swung and I reflexively jumped backwards. The warrior leaped forwards, and I backflip kicked the blade out of his hand. He tackled me down, and reached for his Black Club, getting a firm grasp upon it. He swung it, but I placed my hand on his chest and fired, blasting him feet away and into the lava. I got up, and saw Ryan running towards me.
Why though?

A warrior with two floating gun contraptions following him reared the corner, but was met with a swift forward slice by Ryan. He stepped back injured, and then a streak of energy bolted past Ryan and I, hitting the warrior directly in the chest. He fell back unconscious. We looked back to see a happy Maria wave at us, only to be knocked out by a quick burst of blue light. I ran towards the surface of the volcano, with Ryan following. I turn at him for one second, then turn back. and hear a shout as he's KO'd by a warrior with Beam Claws.

FINAL TWO WARRIORS!

I held my palm forwards and shot, but he teleported to the left, barely evading it...

"WHAT?"

Sorry Aaron, you have to have some form of godly blood in your veins in order to use those powers.

I collapsed to my knees as this warrior teleported around me at lightning fast speed. I couldn't land a hit. I held my arm out, but was slashed across the back. I felt the consciousness drain from me, but I couldn't lose... I couldn't. I stood up, and saw the warrior standing near the edge of the volcano near lava. I charged and tried for a tackle, but he teleported to the side. I turned it into a spiral kick, and he fell backwards. I anticipated lava, but was instead met with hot rock ground. I slammed against the ground, along with the warrior, whos helmet fell off to reveal... light Pit? It appeared to be Pit, only with pale white skin, and glowing green eyes. It was an Aurum version of Pit... with Godlike blood... and mad skills.

I'm screwed.

I ran towards a familiar area and saw a black club lying on the ground. Aurum Pit slashed my back, then slashed 4 more times...

"I- I won't lose"

I layed semi-unconscious. The Aurum Pit went for another slash, but was met by a large bolt of energy, then is launched back into a wall made by the rim of the volcano. I made my way to my feet, then stumbled into the wall. The Aurum Pit got up, and ran at me and swung. I fought the pain and swiftly dodged all the attacks, then launched a 3 piece combo of my own. Back and forth we began trading blows, and I flew back near the unconscious warrior with a black club.

I felt a sharp pain in my chest, and looked up to see the Aurum Pit firing a beam of energy at me. I couldn't just let this happen, but by now my energy was fading and I was relying on pure willpower. The Aurum Pit closed in on me and charged a shot, but I shot at his chest. I then sweeper kicked him, but he tried doing a chinese get up. I slammed my fist downward as he did and hit his chest, sending him right back down. A loud noise indicated the amount of force held within my next charge shot, which shot a hole through his chest, then I sent a flurry of energy bolts at the beast, leaving a large cloud of dust. It got onto its knees, then grabbed my wrist just as the dust cleared, then charged an attack. I shot another blast and its grip was crippled, then I broke free. Putting a hand on his head, I frontflip-cartwheeled over him and grabbed the black club. I struggled to lift it, but I then underhand swing launching my foe into the air. Next I side swing just as he lands and send him into the wall, and he bounces back. An overhand swing seals the deal, and the Aurum tech robot is completely crushed. I staggered back and fell, almost landing in the lava, but I was bathed in a sacred white light. I lost consciousness, probably due to shock, but whatever. I won.

...I won...

This is where I'll draw the line! See, after this point the story fell apart, so I'm going to take it back over and continue it correctly.
