Edited:I still like Plaza. I'm just giving a brief history of what I and others remember. Well, I wouldn't really say brief so I take that back.


Sorry, I haven't been on in 11 weeks so I have no clue of anything. Also, what's witht the threads? They all seem the same like last year.

So, as many of you know, the Plaza users has decreased over the past year. What caused this dramatic fall over the years? Was it the users, new consles, or something else. In this topic, we will examine the rise and the loss of Plaza. Plaza is still going, but it has become less of what it was. Pay attention.

One day in 2011...

(2011:Age of exploration)
A site was born! A site that would become successful and fall over the years. RobDeProp's 3DS fan site was launched in 2011! 3DS fans went crazy finding this site. We have no clue if Rob thought this was going to become popular at all though. Over the years though, it did. Lets stay on track now. As fans went crazy, they saw Plaza as a miniature gaming community for a small handheld called the 3DS. You could message users, chat in the chatroom(s), upload photos, etc. It seemed really booming. No rules were really enforced until the happening of this. Online daters had tooken over! "Baby, I love you" was seen throughout the site. Profile blurbs saying "I'm single" had appeared. It was basically the beginning of life! The site was shutdown temporarily because of this. It had a revival with better rules and moderators. The rule breaking stopped a bit until more users joined. As more and more joined, Plaza would become a bigger thing. Dating kept going, and future problems awaited. With the users happy, the next year awaits!

(2012: The age of the shocking)

Welcome to 2012! The biggest year Plaza had seen in years. More and more users had came! More than 2011. How did this year affect users the most? Dramatically! So, new items in the shops had the users go wild! You could play connect 4 and other game against users. Also, the chats began life! The chatrooms began to get filled. Users try to "milk the cow", RP, and other things. All these other things were introduced to the users! And, we celebrated Plaza's 1 year! It was a good birthday year. Or was it....? Online dating had gone beyond far! Users would start drama over breakups and message mods about the breakups. In many chatrooms the Online Dating took over. Profiles and profiles had users dating others online. And did it stop here? Hackers came! Hacks sent the site down for a while making love birds missed their loved ones. Also, the fans became enraged in this! Next, a big MMORPG was being released for the 3DS Browser. A.K.A, Project Triniate! The users went wild as hell for this. They saw a trailer for it on the site showing users chatting to eachother and fighting. In gaming news, this had become popular! Did the fun end? Nope! Or did it? Here was the biggest controversy through Plaza as whole. Anyone remember the user Star23? Yes! Plaza's first major war began here! Star23 was a user who got black mailed by another user named Dayna. This user made fake alts telling guys that she is a lesbian, wants to f.uck them, etc. It became so huge, people took sides. Star23's comments were filled with haters, and people on her side. Throughout this war, profiles and profiles said this> "Star23 is a hacker" and "I support Star23". Everywhere, those quotes were there. Yes, bans had happened multiple times, but both users of Dayna and Star just kept coming back. After months, the war had remained silent. Moderators and Robdeprop was in shock of these events. Next, users began making Wapka.mobi sites. This had become a popular thing in the day! Youtube for 3DS, 3DSfun, you name it! The site was spammed with wapka.mobi sites. And this wasn't the end. We had people posting nude photos! So many times, this had happened. So many children were sbocked. Now, we're around October-December. The Star23 war begun again! How? A user who "supposedly" sent her nude swapnotes framed her because she wouldn't send nudes back. More drama had begun until 2013. Oh yeah! Users began to commit suicide in a joking way to fool the users. Users had left because of this, drama, being too old, parents finding out, etc.

(2013:The way to extinction)
Welcome to 2013. It has almost been a year and Project Triniate isn't done. This was the last update to the site "supposedly". Users began becoming bored because the icon shop had closed, very useless updates, etc. People were dieing of boredom. The fans began a mega huge riot against mods. Forum threads were made against the moderators. I'll be honest. Sackthing101 told me if I didn't shutup, he'd lose his moderator privelages. Users were revolting. The same threads kept being made and not much changed. The hack rate went up dramatically. The site was shutdown many times, but users still weren't done. The Star23 war began a 3rd time. It wasn't major though. Instead, a user named Kella targeted her. Framing her, blackmailing her, identity theft, and framing her friends. It was horrible, but you guys know what happened. It's over now. Ended around October. From May-July, the last update to Plaza was announced. People were getting curious. Questions were asked if this was the last of Plaza. It seemed as if Rob had left. SomeLuigi left though. After tons of attention, Rob made a forum saying he isn't leaving, but he has accomplished everything he wanted to do. The fans were shocked. Because of this, users had not much to do left and began to leave at a higher rate. You see the total registered users thing at the bottom? Oh, it was way higher! Later in 2013, they deleted all inactive accounts! This was tons of accounts that were inactive. 20,074 remain untouched. The chatrooms began to look empty. So, a new thing was brought. Chatroom game! Rob might've thought this would make the chats popular again. Did it help? For a short period, it did, but it failed. R.I.P Chatroom Game. So, users are leaving, Online Daters are dating, etc. Wait, what else had come? Well, the forums becamed spammed! One night, not many mods were on. Some say 1 mod was on. The forums were spammed to death. Users were shocked at what was happening. Not once, but more than once. The user Edgee and MCFox(I think) became known! The biggest shock we'd ever see at the end of 2013.

(2014:Could this be the age of extinction)
Welcome to 2014. The possible age of extinction. For 2 years, users have been wondering when the site would become of what it is now, but much worse. Some said 2013-2016. The population that is active is declining very much. Many alts are being made. And guess what? More threads against mods . Well, not much to say, but it looks awful. I mean looking back on 11-12. Those were good years in my opinion. It just feels sorrow this year. Boredom has gone wild with the users. More users are gone. Well, nothing else to say.

There were many events you didn't document, but the "Star23 event" happened to be important? A user racked each forum up to 1,000 posts in an hour, last year. A new miscellaneous forum was created, last year. A troublesome extension to the help command made Robdebot ban people for spam, last year.

@Mega: When I said "some say 1 moderator was on", I wasn't trying to disown the mods. I was just stating how many possible mods were on last year on the day every forum was spammed.

If we're talking about mods doing their jobs properly...I would suggest doing something about the bypassed swear in the main post

On topic, I don't think a lack activity on Plaza means it's falling. There's still 50-80 users active in the chat rooms during the night. That's a lot, though it may not seem like it because they don't spread out as much. I'm sure there aren't as many users as before, but there's still a healthy amount.

Let's not forget...it is the school season...kids are studying, cramming, getting grounded for not studying...then after all that, spending their only free time playing their new Pokemon or SSBB game. Of course Plaza is going to seem dead now...but during the summer, I'm sure it will pick up again.

If you're still concerned that Plaza might be dying...then do a bit of advertising. Tell your friends! That's likely how it got popular in the first place. Nothing is going to last in it's prime forever, unless you do something about it ._.

I can assure you that there will always be, at the least, a few users who use Plaza on a daily basis. Plaza won't FALL this year...or next year...or the year after that. Will it become insignificant and less populated? Possibly...but I can bet you it will still be around in 2017.

I did not type this article based on what is to come. I typed the 2014 year as a possibility to many and the thoughts of many. Better yet, Mega should've just kept this locked. I'll do the honor.
