I virtually cannot express enough that the characters in this and the story in this ISN'T MINE. I only own my text adaptation, to convey a decent story to people who don't want to watch the anime series or play the Visual Novel.
I previously posted this on Wattpad under an anonymous name.
Steins;Gate - Fan Text Adaptation
Author's Note - I do not own STEINS;GATE. All I own, is the text adaptation of mine.
Prologue: PAUSE;PLAY
Time flows. Repeating endlessly. Never ending. It cannot be changed; not even by the destructive nature of man. World Lines cannot be changed either, but you can travel across them.
Time can only be changed in the perception of mans eyes - of that the past contains a certain outcome. Change the future, without changing that.
Chapter One: Metal Oopa and Plagiarised Science
I dragged myself up the last step. Cold sweat dripped from my forehead, and I started panting. Mayuri wasn't far behind me - infact she was RIGHT behind me.
"Ooh! An Oopa dispenser!" Mayuri happily spoke freely, and clearly didn't give the slightest damn about me, probably. She ran over to it, and stared in awe, as she loved Oopa's and she wanted them all. She pulled her purse from a small bag of hers, and looked in. "Eh? Hey, Okarin..do you have any 100 yen coins? I'm out of them..hehe."
I sighed, as usual, then rummaged around in my labcoat pocket. I found a coin, gripped it tightly and pulled it out swiftly. To my gain, it was an exact 100Â¥ coin.
"Ooh, looking for this?" I teased Mayuri.
"But..Okarin..I really want an Oopa!"
I broke out into a fit of my own mad laughter. "Let me show you how unfair the world is." I walked over, slotted the yen coin, and then twisted the knob. An Oopa came rolling out, so I caught it by holding my hand over the 'collection point'. After picking it up, I opened the capsule, and to my surprise, it was a shiny metal Oopa. Not made of cheap tat. Not made of cheap plastic. It was pure metal.
"Oh..It's a metal Oopa!" exclaimed Mayuri, as she saw me pull the plastic half of the casing off. I put the casing pieces in my pocket, and dangled the Oopa from my finger, using the small keychain piece attached to the Oopa by a bit of metal. I stared at it, confused. I thought it was just a worthless piece of junk.
"What is this? It just looks like a worthless piece of crap." I sighed, letting the words linger in the air.
"But..Okarin..Mayushii really wants the metal Oopa!"
"Do you REALLY need it, or do you want it?" I laughed manically again. "Life isn't fair, Mayuri. But I guess you can have it as it means nothing to me." I hand the metallic, spherical Oopa to Mayuri, in which she takes it from my warm hands and starts smiling as usual.
"Woah, thanks Okarin! These things are worth 50,000 yen on online markets!"
"EH? THAT COULD PAY FOR THE LAB'S EXPENSES AND ALL! SELL IT ONLINE!" I yelled. Before Mayuri could talk back, an announcement was made over the intercom system. "Dr. Nakabachi's press conference is now starting."
"Alright, Mayuri, that's my cue. I'll be leaving now. Talk to you later. Do you remember the password?" I ask before I leave.
"Uh..El...Psy...Congri-"
I cut her off before she gets it wrong. "Congroo."
"Ah, okay, Okarin! Talk to you later!"
I head up to the top floor, for the doctor's conference.
As I enter the room, the building shakes. I panic and look around while lost in thought. 'Is it an earthquake?' 'How serious is it?' 'Am I going to die like this?'. It all stopped. The building didn't collapse, everyone was fine. I shrugged it off, and took a seat. Everyone else took a seat, and Dr Nakabachi started speaking. It was nothing really interesting, for example he started mentioning equations and gravity, etc. etc. Then I realised. Mid sentence, I cut him off.
"You fake! This is all based on John Titor's theories and relativities, if not it IS John Titor's work!" I yelled, passionately.
"Excuse me?" He yelled back.
"You just heard me! You plagiarist!"
We got into a heated debate for a little while, until a fairly small woman entered the room, with red hair that went down to hips, has blue irises, and a weird style of clothing. She drags me out of the seminar be my arm, and starts talking in a stern voice.
"Uh.. Hello, who are you? Have we met before?"
I reply with a simple "No."
"You were talking to me about fifteen minutes ago."
