This is an essay I wrote for world history honors about ANDROID11.
Chivalry is the "code of conduct" for a knight. He's meant to follow these rules to be a true knight in shining armour. Many people gave what they believe is their knight, and mine is named Alexander. Knights are always willing to take on difficult and unglamorous tasks, and are always willing to accept the consequences. Alexander has stood by my side and defended me when no one else would. He would besmirch his own name just to fight tooth and nail to defend me. He didn't care if he had to suffer for it.
A knight is also generous, and not only gives physical goods, but also devotes time, attention, energy, and wisdom to those around them. We could role play for hours on end, tuning everyone else out just to focus on me. He even gives me advice whenever I need it and gives me a shoulder to cry on. I once had something very difficult happen in my life, something that made me so upset, scared, and pained, that I didn’t want to do anything or talk to anyone. Alexander came to me that day and asked me what was the matter. For several minutes, I wouldn’t tell him anything. I wouldn’t talk to anyone at all. He kept asking though, and finally told me that he only wanted to help. I slowly opened up to him and explained what had happened, and he listened intently. He waited until I was finished, asked a question or two to clarify his understanding, and then told me it was going to be alright. He explained to me that he had the same problem, and would be there to help me out if I need it. I asked him if he was serious, and if he’d really do that for me, and he said “Always. I never leave my friends hanging. You’re my best friend, and I would never want to lose you.â€
A knight has faith. Alexander gives trust to others and always goes through with his promises, big or small. From promising to role play with me, to promising to always be there, Alexander never lets me down. We were once role playing together, and suddenly he had to go. He promised me he’d be back within the hour, and not forty-five minutes later, there he was. Back online and eager to role play with me some more. He also promised me that we’d always be friends, through thick and thin, he’d be there for me, and I’d be there for him. He told me he’d trust me with his life, and promised me, that one day, perhaps we could meet.
A knight also gives people hope. Alexander gives me hope everyday. His happy-go-lucky attitude and cheerful comments make me feel like anything is possible. He inspires me and many others everyday. Whenever I’m feeling upset or scared, he always reassures me, cracks a joke or two, and makes me smile happily. He reminds me everyday that I’m not alone. I was never alone.
